this will mainly affect the monthly classes at STAMP ANTONIO for the time being…

in an effort to try to free up my schedule a bit, charlotte has agreed to design and plan for the Money Saving Sketch class. the format will remain the same, create one layout, then use the leftover supplies to create another. so you’ll still get 2 – 2 page layouts using 1 set of materials – cut once get TWO! the number of photos per layout will stay the same as the guideline i’d used, 6-10 photos per each 2 page layout.

another change we are making is that you can take EITHER or BOTH classes at either class time. meaning you can now take PhotoFull in the morning if you like, or Money $aving $ketches in the evening. and if you are very industrious, you can take BOTH classes in the morning, or BOTH classes in the evening.

i will be teaching the morning class – 10:30 to 12:30 and charlotte will be teaching the evening class from 6:00 to 8:00. the classroom will also be open between the 2 classes for cropping – AS LONG AS YOU ARE TAKING ONE OF THE CLASSES. so you can take the morning class, and stay and crop and work on your layouts until the evening class, or you can come early before the evening class and get some extra crop time in. and if you’d like to make a day of it, GREAT! sign up for both classes and you can stay and play ALL DAY!

i realize some of this information might be confusing, so if you have ANY questions, please just drop me an e-mail using the “contact me” tab at the top of the blog.

i am hoping this change will freshen up both classes and make them more enjoyable for you!

you get to select your own papers for BOTH of these classes – included in the $15 class fee – so your layouts will look different than mine.

call up a scrapping buddy and bring them along for a morning and or/ afternoon of scrapbooking! you’ll get a lot done in either of these classes!

the layouts have room for LOTS of photos, since i was thinking of ALL the Christmas photos you might need to scrap! it’s not too late to sign up, call now or early tomorrow, or just drop in if you aren’t busy!

• 4 cardstock for the background – same or mix and match
• 1 each of 2 different colors of cardstock – so 2 total for matting
• 2 different pieces of printed paper
•  basic supplies: trimmer, scissors, adhesive, pencil and inks

for PhotoFull, which will be offered at 2:00 to 4: 00 and 6:00 to 8:00, you need to bring:

• 2 cardstock for the background – same or mix and match

• 4 brads

i can’t believe i’ve stuck with something “technical” for that long!

have you been thinking about what 2012 holds in store for you? made any resolutions?

i’ve been giving the upcoming 2012 a lot of thought… what are my priorities, what direction do i want the next 12 months to take, what changes do i want to make — out with the old, in with the new!

the rolling of the clock and calendar to a fresh new year always gets me in the “clean slate” frame of mind, at least for a week or two. i wish i knew how to make that feeling last long enough to really MAKE THOSE CHANGES that seemed so important on 01/01 of each new year!

i haven’t made any plans yet that i would apply a coat of sealer to, i thought i’d have things all mapped out this year, but alas – i’m a procrastinator at heart! why do today what you can easily put off until tomorrow? unfortunately, a few years of that mantra has put me way behind in some personal goals!

so, i better hurry up and FOCUS on the upcoming year, IT WON’T wait for me to figure it out; those days just fly by!

some of the “professional” changes i’ve been thinking about making – in order to get to some of those personal goals are:

— teach my “regular” monthly classes – photoFULL and money $aving $ketches bi-monthly instead.

— schedule a “specialty class” like an altered book, mini album or decor project, once every quarter.

— try teaching a “cluster” of classes – a day where 2 or 3 different classes are taught, twice a year.

another idea i’ve had for awhile, is to get several regional instructors together and plan a weekend of classes.

i know i need to change things up in order to quit running from class to class and project to project. i keep thinking things will slow down “next week”, “next month”, “next year”, but the fact is they HAVEN’T!

i am happy with all the freelance design work i’ve been doing; it is something i enjoy very much. but it takes up a LARGE chunk of my time. i just need to admit i need to change up the pace. i can’t clone myself, and i have found that i DO occasionally need to eat, drink and sleep! LOL! so some changes will have to be made this year. i need to find a happy medium between the personal and professional me!

but enough of that! it’s time for the party! the ringing in of 2012!

we went over to my mom’s house to consume large quantities of things that are bad for you and you are supposed to stay away from under “normal” circumstances. we also whiled away the hours til midnite by playing games – something that we have done many a new year.

the “Christmas Spirit” altered book class went SMOOTH as silk! i think it was the best of my altered book series thus far! everyone really showed their Christmas mojo in keeping up with the pace of the class! i hope everyone enjoyed the class {and snacks}; i look forward to seeing some of you this wednesday in the “completor” class, where you’ll have a chance to get the book all finished.

the “Altered ATC Christmas Tray” class went well also; everyone seemed very excited and ready to proudly display their finished projects.

i spent a LOT of time prepping and planning both these classes, so i breathed a HUGE SIGH of relief once they were DONE!

i appreciate all of you who come and take my classes and support me with your generous words of encouragement.

i’m done for the year {well, after wednesday} and am looking ahead to the new year. i probably won’t be posting too much here until january, so please check out the CLEARSNAP BLOG for projects from me, jean – the other blog hostess, and the rest of the design team members. we’ve got some fabulous holiday and new year’s projects coming up, so tune in to be INSPIRED!

in this class, we’ll be create a vintage-inspired Christmas Décor’ piece that you will enjoy displaying for years to come. papers from Graphic 45’s Christmas Emporium line, products from Clearsnap, and goodies from my vintage and not so vintage stash will be used to turn an ATC tray from plain to fabulous! lots of tiny details that will have you and your guests noticing something new each time you look at it.

you will need to chose black or winter white for the color of the tray when you sign up, so call early to ensure you get the color you want. please call Scrapbook N’ More at (830) 214-1690 or e-mail susan at create@scrapbooknmore.net for more information or to sign up.
