Clearsnap and Walnut Hollow Blog Hop

WH+Clearsnap-Blog-Hop-FB (1)

hi! welcome to the CLEARSNAP and WALNUT HOLLOW Blog Hop!!!

Walnut Hollow has lots of great blank, wood surfaces just waiting for you to embellish! and Clearsnap has plenty of inks and more to help you do just that! hop along with the Clearsnap and Walnut Hollow Designers to see how they transformed their pieces into some fabulous projects!

here is the list for the hop, you should have come here from Suzanne’s blog, and you’ll be heading to Sara’s blog after your visit here. if you jumped in somewhere other than the start, please head back to the Clearsnap Blog to hop from the beginning…

Clearsnap Blog

Chris Wallace

for my project, i selected the RUSTIC PANEL and 1 1/2″ WOODEN LETTERS from Walnut Hollow. i wanted to make a gift for my mom-in-law using a recent family photo. here’s a pic of my finished project…

walnut hollow family wood panel - WM

i first used gesso to add a background pattern to the pallet using a stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop. then i used ColorBox Archival Dye Ink Refill Bottles in Mudslide, Mermaid and Glacier Lake, diluted with water, to stain the panels. i liked how the gessoed areas took on the colors of the dye inks applied over them. i thought it was a little more interesting than stenciling over the dye inks, which would have resulted in just a white pattern.

the quote was added using Colorbox Crafter’s Ink in Bark and Aruba and Jasmine Mix’d Media Inx embossed with ColorBox White Embossing Ink. stamps are from The {Stamps} of Life.

a little Topaz Izink was blended in some gesso to use to paint the “family” letters.

to add more “texture” to the letters, a swirl stamp {from Paper Wing Productions} was used to stamp first in Bark and then in Aruba Crafter’s Inks.

the photo was matted on white cardstock, distressed using Aruba Crafter’s Ink, and then on Kraft Corrugate Paper {Fancy Pants} distressed using Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink.

flowers, rhinestones, pearls, baker’s twine, ribbon and junque jewelry finish off the piece.

i put together a Snapguide for this project; it has a complete supply list as well as step-by-step photos and written directions…

Check out this guide on Snapguide

thank you for stopping by! enjoy the rest of the hop! be sure to enter to win some goodies on the Clearsnap Blog!

Clearsnap & Fancy Pants Blog Hop

Hello! For the next few days Fancy Pants and Clearsnap are having a BLOG HOP! LOTS of great projects with LOTS of great products!

Check the CLEARSNAP BLOG and the FANCY PANTS BLOG for previews and links to the blogs of participating designers…

Hi! Tami Sanders here, welcome to my blog!

The project I made was a banner featuring my 3 handsome boys – my 2 sons and my hubbie – using goodies from Fancy Pants and Clearsnap.

I wanted a smaller scale banner that I could hang in my studio and the size of the Fancy Pants embellies and letters worked really well.

I loved the Corrugate Paper and decided it would be perfect for the base of banner and assorted Fancy Pants embellies were used to dress up the piece…

take a look at the banner – finished size is just a little under 24″ if you lay it out straight…

home banner _ clearsnap_fancy pants_dye ink_spritz_sprays_colorbox spritzers_altered banner_tami sanders - wm

The flag banner pieces were cut from the Kraft Corrugated Paper and measure about 4 X 6. I used the ColorBox Stylus & Tips to ink the raised areas using Jasmine Mix’d Media Ink. The edges were distressed using Chestnut Roan and Charcoal Cat’s Eye Chalk Inks

home banner _ clearsnap_fancy pants_dye ink_spritz_sprays_colorbox spritzers_altered banner_tami sanders - rob (682x1024)     home banner _ clearsnap_fancy pants_dye ink_spritz_sprays_colorbox spritzers_altered banner_tami sanders - drew (683x1024)     home banner _ clearsnap_fancy pants_dye ink_spritz_sprays_colorbox spritzers_altered banner_tami sanders - chris (682x1024)

The rounded banner pieces were made using the White Corrugated Paper and measure about 3 X 4. I placed them in the Color Catcher and sprayed them with assorted inks: Bubblegum Premium Sprays!, and ColorBox Spritzers in Lemon Drop, Mermaid and Pumpkin Pie. I thought those colors complimented the Fancy Pants embellies and papers. The edges were distressed using Chestnut Roan Cat’s Eye Chalk Ink

home banner _ clearsnap_fancy pants_dye ink_spritz_sprays_colorbox spritzers_altered banner_tami sanders - cu letter (683x1024)

Now that the base of the banner was done, it was time to DRESS IT UP! I started by printing 2 X 3 photos {be sure to add a frame or cut them out a little larger} which fit perfectly in the windows of the As You WishPatterned Photo Frames.  The edges were distressed using Chestnut Roan Cat’s Eye Chalk Ink then I laid them out on the kraft banner flags.

Next came the larger embellishments, I liked the happy little sentiments found in the “Burlap & Bouquets” Ephemera Pack. So I added them to the sides of the framed photos, overlapping the edges of the banner pieces.

Then I layered on some smaller embellies from the Ephemera Pack, like the arrows and feathers. And more is better right? So on went a few of the stickers from the Burlap & Bouquets Label Sticker Sheet.

It was time to add the sentiment to this banner, so I picked out the “Burlap & Bouquets” Burlap Alpha Stickers. Not happy to ever leave any surface uninked, I placed the letters I wanted to use “HOME” on waxed paper and stamped with with tiny stars {from Viva Las Vegas’ Pound O’ Rubber} using Black Surfacez Ink. I thought the letters needed some “grounding” before adding them to the rounded banner pieces, so I punched circles from the 6 X 6 Me-ology Paper Pad and added the letters to the centers.

The rounded banner pieces still seemed a little “naked”, so I cut lopsided triangles from “As You Wish” Dictionary Printed Paper. The triangles were inked using Prussian Blue Cat’s Eye Chalk Ink and the circles with Chestnut Roan before being adhered to the banner pieces.

I used brads to link all the pieces together and thought it looked good – but could use just a “little” more embellishing! So I found the “Everyday Circus” Button Set and added a few for the finishing touch!

Then all that was left was to punch holes in the ends and add cord for hanging.

i hope you enjoyed this project! Keep on hopping for MORE great projects from the very talented Fancy Pants and Clearsnap Designers!

DON’T FORGET TO CHECK OUT THE GIVEAWAY! Info can be found on the CLEARSNAP BLOG!

happy hopping!

Clearsnap & Smoothfoam Blog Hop

Welcome to the Clearsnap and Smoothfoam Blog Hop!

Hop along to each blog in the hop list to see inspiring ways to use Smoothfoam with Clearsnap’s ink, created by our teams of designers.

Be sure to comment on each blog in the hop, then use the Rafflecopter widget at the end of this post to enter to win a prize pack of Smoothfoam and Clearsnap goodies!

hi ya! you have arrived at my blog: tami sanders * paper crafter, you should have just come from the Flores Tanis Studio Blog – welcome!

my project is a memo board made using the 12 X 12 Scrapbook Page Mount from Smoothfoam and inks and more from Clearsnap

clearsnap_smoothfoam_blog hop_tami sanders_crafters ink_colorbox_dorm deco_memo board - wm

i needed a lightweight memo board that would easily attach to a cabinet in my studio without damaging it. i didn’t want to use a nail or something similar, i was thinking more along the lines of poster tac or one of those non-damaging hooks. most traditional memo boards are too heavy to attach that way.

i started with a plain piece of unbleached canvas, then spritzed it using several different colors of ColorBox® Spritzers: Pumpkin Pie, Pinkolicious, Lemon Drop, Mermaid and Grasshopper, the added a stenciled pattern using Black ColorBox® Crafter’s Ink applied using the ColorBox® Stylus & Tips.

i think this board would well in dorm rooms also; where you have to be careful not to damage the walls.

i put together a Snapguide that shows how to make this project step-by-step, you can view it here…

Here is the HOP LIST…

if you jumped in at the middle, or just happened to stumple upon the hop, please begin at the Smoothfoam Blog.

Clearsnap & The {Stamps} Of Life Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to the Clearsnap & The {Stamps} of Life Blog Hop!

All day today we’re stamping and inking, creating and sharing. Be sure to visit everyone on the hop and leave a comment to be entered to win a fabulous prize of Stephanie Barnard’s line of ColorBox inkpads, Stephanie Barnard Sprays!, and Stephanie’s new SCREENS!

***You can find the list of blogs on the hop below my project***

For the hop, I’m sharing a SUNSHINE-Y card with you. It is HOT, HOT, HOT here in sunny Texas. These hot summer days have me dreaming of a trip to the beach for a little cool H20 relief. But since the family can’t fit in a beach trip just yet, I thought I’d make a card featuring blue skies and waves, with white fluffy clouds and a big bright sun!

I used ColorBox® Premium Dye Inks and Sprays! by Stephanie Barnard along with some stamps and dies from The {Stamps} Of Life on glossy paper to create this fun little card…

sunshine card - colorbox_clearsnap_stephanie barnard_dye inks_stamped card_stamping on glossy paper_summer card_tami sanders - card wm

I love how Stephanie gives you lots of parts and pieces that you can stamp and arrange how you like! It makes it fun to mix and match designs and make something uniquely your own.

I wanted to use black ink to really POP the bright colors, but I wanted a “softer” look, so I used Charcoal ColorBox® Chalk Ink. Chalk Inks work great on glossy cardstock, just heat set to speed up dry time to reduce the risk of smearing.

The sun was stamped on glossy paper that had been spritzed with Banana ColorBox® Premium Dye Ink Spray!, and the center was punched from paper inked using Tangerine ColorBox® Premium Dye Ink

sunshine card - colorbox_clearsnap_stephanie barnard_dye inks_stamped card_stamping on glossy paper_summer card_tami sanders - cu sun (1024x767)

The clouds were actually stamped on the BACK of some leftover glossy paper that had been sprayed with the Blueberry ColorBox® Premium Dye Ink Sprays! Little dotted areas had soaked through to the backside of the paper and I thought they would make pretty clouds.

The waves were made by stamping them on glossy papers that had been sprayed with Blueberry and Sky ColorBox® Premium Dye Ink Sprays!.The waves were cut out and then the colors alternated with the waves offset…

Using the Color Catcher® helps keep all the inky goodness contained! And don’t forget to use your ColorBox® Cleaning Pad to spiffy up your stamps!

ColorBox Cleaning Pad

The ColorBox® Cleaning Pad is a quick and easy way to clean off your stamps {even for those of us who don’t like to clean our stamps– -wink…wink!}

Now… onto my project for the hop!

Hopefully, you started the hop at the beginning — at the CLEARSNAP BLOG. if you didn’t, you might want to go back and start over at the ClearSnap Blog so you can see ALL the projects! Plus, the project for my blog begins with leftovers from the project I made and posted to the ClearSnap Blog, so you might feel a little confused if you don’t view that post first.

I LOVE being able to use leftover bits and things that might otherwise get tossed. This card is a great example of upcycling your paper craft “trash”. I thought it would make a nice “thank you for your service” card for your favorite military gal. Delete the gems for a great card for your favorite military guy ;)

thank you service card_clearsnap_colorbox_patriotic card_ dye ink_4th of july_stamped_top boss_tami sanders wm

All the supplies for this project – with the exception of the gems, came from the leftovers from my frame project or papers from my scrap bag – including the card base.

The red piece and the thin blue border strip were both leftover from the kraft paper that I sprayed with the Stephanie Barnard Sprays! for the frame, and the stars were leftover from that project as well. The diecut frame was a “negative” of a piece I had cut for another card. No sense in tossing it out! Negatives from your diecuts can be very useful. The cream piece that the sentiment was stamped on came from my scrap bag. Twine? leftover from the frame project. AND, my favorite part of this card – the red, white and blue “camo”  print. This strip was made by placing a piece of kraft paper over the ink left on the paper I sprayed the papers from the frame over. {I usually use my Color Catcher, but I was spraying a lot of pieces so I put down a big piece of paper}. Whenever you spray or spritz, there is usually some ink left in the bottom of your Color Catcher or whatever surface you sprayed on, so why waste it. I liked how the piece came out, it looked like a camo print to me!

christmas tree card - stephanie barnard,colorbox,clearsnap,sprinkles chunky glitter,dye ink,premium dye ink,christmas papercraft,stamped card,tami sanders - card (682x1024)

This quick and easy card coordinates with the mini garland project I posted on the Clearsnap Blog – you should have seen it if you began the Hop at the beginning. If you are jumping in at the middle, or just came to visit my blog, please check the list below this project to start the Hop at the start – the Clearsnap Blog.

So if you make the garland, you’ll already have most of what you need out to make this card, so why not make BOTH!

The yellow background was made using Stephanie Barnard Sprays! in Banana. The images were stamped using Stepahnie Barnard Premium Dye Inks: Spearmint for the trees, Strawberry for Love, Guava for Peace and Blueberry for Joy. The outline stars were stamped in Chocolate. All of the glitter – Sprinkles! Chunky Glitter – was applied using Glue Gloss. A little bakers twine bow finishes it off. If you want to make and mail these, you might want to do them flat instead of using 3D Dots to adhere the tree and circles. That little added dimension can sometimes double the cost of postage!
