TREND-mendous class deets!

i spoke with susan at Scrapbook n’ More today and we finalized the details for the TREND-mendous mini album class…

time: 1:00 to 5:00 {we may finish sooner}

description: this frilly and feminine mini album has a graphic pop of black and white against bright, spring-y colors of the new ON TREND line by Crate Paper.  the album starts with wood covers; the front one has a window! the pages are mixed media and a mix of sizes and styles. they are made of: corrugated cardboard, manilla cardstock, shipping tags and kraft cardstock. there are pockets, fold outs and lots of little details. you’ll get bunches of embellies too: crystal bead stems, ribbons, trims, rhinestones and flowers to name a few. this album can be used for any number of subject matters – i think black and white photos would look great! a tag entitled “the best day” shows through the window, but if that doesn’t fit, you can add an “s” to get “the best days”, or simply turn the tag around (it has a pretty butter yellow print on the back) and make your own title!

TREND-mendous mini album class…

i just finished a mini album using Crate Paper’s new On Trend line…

this pretty collection seemed perfect to use with spring just around the corner! i can’t believe that we are almost done with january! this year is flying by.

we are enjoying spring-like weather here in san antonio, but the rodeo always brings cold, rainy and nasty weather. and the rodeo starts in just a few weeks, so i am enjoying the sun while i can.

this album could be used for lots of different photos. “the best day” shows through in the window of the album, but add an “s” and you could change that to “the best days”! OR you could turn the tag around and put a photo or your own title there.

this album features unique pages and lots of little special touches, here’s a peek…

i’ll be teaching this class at Scrapbook n’ More in new braunfels; stay tuned for date, time and cost. i’ll be finalizing the details tomorrow. if you are interested in this class, please plan to sign up EARLY as i only have 10 of these albums.

if you had wanted to take the amoure decor class that i taught last week but didn’t get to make it, i had 2 kits left and they are for sale at Scrapbook n’ More. susan also let me leave my scrapbook layout kits at her store on consignment. so if you missed the garage sale, you still have a chance to buy some CHEAP $5 kits!!!

and while we are on the subject of classes, i WILL be teaching an altered book class using the NEW! Graphic 45 Secret Garden line. the class will be held at Stamp Antonio. i’ll start designing the book as soon as the papers arrive. i’ve already started planning as i want to include LOTS of new techniques in the book.

carol at Stamp Antonio suggested that i might do a cookbook album using the other NEW! Graphic 45 line – French Country. it would make a pretty cookbook… any interest?

class updates…

i have been working on updating all my class info for june…

the class schedules in the sidebar have all been updated and as you can see, there are 2 new venues on it: SCRAPBOOK STUDIO and SCRAPBOOK N’ MORE.

i’ll be teaching my first classes for “myself” this month under Scrapbook Studio and i’m pretty excited about it!

here are the 2 classes that i’m offering…

the disney altered book is the next book in my “series” of altered books, but it is MUCH simpler than the other classes have been – so it is a great introduction if you haven’t taken an altered book class before. or just a quick and fun class {only 3 hours :) } if you have taken this type of class before. it’s a great way to show off your trip photos.

the summer fun mini album is a new mom & me project. so if you have kids that will soon be out of school and BORED, take them to a class! you and your child will work together on one project during the class time. and you’ll leave with a unique and fun little book that they can fill with photos of their summertime events. this class is geared to kids ages 6 and up.

Susan at Scrapbook N’ More, thanks to some persistant customers, has asked me to come teach a few classes at her store. so i’ve added some daytime classes to her june class schedule. i’ll have photos and more info up later this week.

i have also added the class supplies needed for money $aving $ketches and photoFULL at Stamp Antonio on june 2.

i am also hoping that i will be able to share some DT projects with you from Reminisce, Clearsnap and Gecko Galz later this month. i don’t think i’ll be able to leave my studio for the next month unless it’s to teach a class! LOL

ckc class update

i received the presale report for my two CKC SAN MARCOS classes…

there are only 7 spots left in my PHOTOFULL class scheduled for friday, september 17 from 4:30 to 5:30. and, as i posted last week, my “life is good” mini album class is full.

pre-registration is now closed, but you can still sign up on fridayfor the PHOTOFULL class  in san marcos if you are interested. 

i signed up for one class – BEYOND THE SQUARE, it was the only class i thought i could fit in my schedule. And the timing is perfect too, it’s being taught RIGHT before my mini album class – in the SAME room! so i can take the class, then teach mine! so if any of you are taking that class on saturday, i’ll see you there!

happy birthday mom!

my mom’s birthday was this week…

i had no idea what to get her though. when i was younger, birthdays were SO exciting, the list of things i wanted was HUGE! now, most b-days i can’t think of too many things i actually need. and UGGH – when did birthdays start being about things i NEED instead of about things i WANT! but, i guess as you get older {DOUBLE UUUGGH} you realize that you actually have to find a home in your home for stuff, so you better make sure you NEED it! LOL! mom’s been at that point for awhile, there isn’t much she needs, and i can only come up with so many ideas for “practical” and “useful” gifts. SO, this year, i decided to just give a gift from the heart.

i was INSPIRED by the new Teresa Collins lines that Scrapbook 911 got in. i was at the store over the weekend for a retreat, so i thought about making mom a mini album for her b-day. i wanted it to be more of a “card”, not something with pics, just journaling. Things you think about but don’t always put into words. i wanted her to READ and KNOW how wonderful her family thinks she is.

So i started with papers from the Celebrate line, then added some black and white patterned papers from Noel and Giving Thanks. i like mixing bright, vivid printed papers with black and white patterns. it grounds them and gives the bold shades something to “bounce” off of.

i had so much fun putting this album together for my mom that i decided to make another one for a friend. i’ll be sharing it in a few days, so check back {hint – think pink and girlie-girl!}

ckc houston…

i am wrapping up all the prep for my 2 classes at CKC Houston…

thanks to lori and tinka for their help in getting things ready! i’ve got all the class kits bagged up,  all the supplies are lined up {well almost}, and i’m trying to finish all the last minute little details.

i’ve had months to get ready – and it seems like it has TAKEN months to get ready, but it’s finally almost here! we leave thursday morning for houston; we’ll stop and shop along the way. then friday morning – bright and early – i’ll have my first class!

there were a lot of great classes offered and i couldn’t resist signing up for a few, and tinka, laura and i also signed up for the friday nite CKC crop so we could get a little scrapp’n in.

registration has closed, but you can still sign up for classes and crops once you get to CKC, so you might want to check out what’s offered. my friend charlotte always takes the QUICK QUOTES classes and says they are always great! she likes the SEI classes too, and i’ve enjoyed the one’s of theirs that i have taken.

the classes i’ll be teaching are:

PHOTOFULL LAYOUTS:

in this class you’ll get to make 2 – 2 page layout. each has a different technique to get MORE photos on your pages. the techniques are easy to learn and to do, so you’ll be able to incorporate them into your own layouts as well.

the “LIFE IS GOOD” MINI ALBUM is my other class…

you’ll get 3 sets of stickers and 1 set of cardstock stickers, a $13.00 value, to use to complete your mini book. this book features papers and embellishments from Reminisce’s Unwritten line. the colors are vintage-bright, and will compliment the photos you use in your book.

i hope to see some of you in houston; i’m looking forward to it!

san marcos CKC…

i found out this week that i WILL be teaching at CKC SAN MARCOS…

i’m teaching the same classes at CKC san marcos that i will be teaching at CKC houston. so if you were interested in my classes but couldn’t make it to houston, you’ll get a second chance at them in san marcos.

in my photofull layout class, you’ll make 2 – 2 page layouts that will EACH hold 12 photos – or more! you’ll have to take the class to find out where and how the rest of the photos are “hidden”…

my other class will be a mini album class – “life is good” mini album, we’ll use the UNWRITTEN line by REMINISCE to embellish this mini book i designed using file folders…

FREE make & take!

i’ll be at SCRAPBOOK COTTAGE this sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 doing a FREE make & take!

we’ll be making a journal pocket using papers and embellishments from REMINISCE’S Unwritten line.

you can use the pocket as a card or on a layout, or if you like the layout i designed using the pocket, there will be directions and a supply list on hand for you to use to recreate it.

i hope you will come by and see me!

i will be back at scrapbook cottage on thursday, april 29 to teach my “life is good” mini album.

ckc houston…

i have just confirmed that i will be teaching 2 classes at CKC HOUSTON, july 16 & 17…

both classes will feature papers and embellishments from REMINISCE…

the first class is photofull…

we’ll be making 2 – 2 page layouts in this one hour class, which focuses on how to create more space on your layouts for photos by using pockets, flips and folds, and not by cropping your photos down to tiny! we’ll be doing 2 different layouts with different techniques. the themes will be birthday and summer fun, themes that i’m sure you probably already have photos for! everything will be precut, so you’ll just have to put the layouts together!

the other class will be a mini album class; “life is good” file folder mini album…

in this class, we’ll begin with a mini album made from file folders {my own design} and embellish it using papers, chipboard and stickers from the Reminisce’s UNWRITTEN collection; a fresh, fun and colorful line. there is plenty of room for journaling and photos in this 6 X 9 album.

“life is good” …

i’ll be doing a free make and take at SCRAPBOOK COTTAGE on sunday, april 18 from 1:00 to 3:00. we’ll be making the journaling pocket for this layout…

you’ll also get complete directions and a supply list for the items you will need to complete the 2 page layout. but, you can also use your journaling pocket on a layout of your own, or even as a card.

then, on thursday, april 29, from 6:00 to 8:30, i’ll be teaching a mini book class – “life is good”…

the base of the album is made from file folders, deorated with papers from REMINISCE’s UNWRITTEN line. you’ll also receive $13.00 worth of stickers to complete your project! 1 set EACH of the new layered chipboard stickers, mini alphabet stickers, quote stickers and tag stickers. the album has space for lots of photos as well as little pockets you can tuck your journaled cards in. you can add photos and memories of the things {or people!} that are good in your life! this mini book would also make a womderful gift! {mother’s day is coming up}
