wrap it up!

i wanted a share a quick and easy to make little gift bag that you can whip up to tuck that special gift in…

i used papers and ephemera by HARLEE-QUINNZ, stamps by MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY, inks by CLEARSNAP, cardstock from PRISM, flowers from IMAGINISCE, chipboard glitter letters from AMERICAN CRAFTS and vintage trims from my stash!

i started with a piece of the COWGIRLS ephemera; the wanted poster was just asking to be filled in, and the cowgirl looked so “christmas-ey” in her green shirt and red boots! i stamped “gifts” under “wanted” on the poster using dark brown chalk ink. then i took a piece of the LUCKY STRIPE printed paper and used Smooch accent ink in Siren to color the darker stripes red creating a “peppermint” effect. i adhered the ephemera piece over the paper at a angle and cut out leaving about 1″ around all sides. then i tore around the edges, inked them with dark brown chalk ink and adhered it to a piece of kraft cardstock; which was also inked around the edges. i added some vintage sequin trim around the ephemera piece, and some ribbon and pom trim along the bottom. then i added 3 velvet flowers with black button centers and the word “shop” in some glittery silver letters. the piece was then ready to be adhered to the gift bag. i removed the cord handles from the bag and inserted 3 pieces of twine through the holes, bringing them to the front to tie in a bow. a piece of vintage tinsel to hold a tiny bell at the center of the bow added the finishing touch.

Prism Papers…

here in san antonio, we are finally getting a TOUCH of fall weather; it’s been rainy and chilly for almost a week! but, there aren’t any pretty fall leaves yet, just wet green ones! LOL!

i think fall is one of my favorite seasons, even though it IS so short here in texas. so i was excited to hear that the theme for this month’s blog at Prism Papers was “Falling for Prism” and that all the projects should center around a “fall” theme!

i am one of the guest designers at Prism this month, and today MY first project for them is up! i can only give you a peek at the project on my blog, so here’s a little “teaser”…

prism project 1

but you can see the whole layout, as well get the supply list and basic directions HERE!

the photos are compliments of dee, so thanks DEE! if you like the layout, please feel free to leave a comment on the Prism blog! and DO make sure you check of the other wonderful projects on the PRISM BLOG while you are there!

if YOU have created any special fall layouts or projects, and you’d like to share them, please send them my way! I’d love to see what YOU are doing!

prism paper — guest designer for october…

i was selected as one of 4 guest designers for Prism Papers for the month of october…

here’s the layout that caught their eye…

patch - 600

i was HOPING they wouldn’t be able to resist my cute little guy! LOL!

i’ll be working on some projects for them in september, and they’ll be posted to their blog in october.

i’ll also be posting peeks of the projects here, and including links to the PRISM BLOG, so you can check out the full project if you would like.

also, this month…

i was flipping through the BHG Halloween Tricks and Treats issue and found a few familiar projects…

first i saw a halloween card that i did for CLEARSNAP included in their ad…

THEN —- i saw this!

 haunted house

BHG requested this project about 3 YEARS ago! i didn’t think i’d EVER see it in print, but there it was, and coincidentally — it was placed RIGHT next to the Clearsnap ad.  i was very surprised, i didn’t know either project would be in there.

thanks for letting me share — i hope to have some more projects up soon.

i’ve been trying to get caught up on my classes – getting everything lined up and ready for september. so i haven’t had a lot of free time to create some “makey-do’s” for the blog, but i’ll get on it SOON!
