scrapbook studio EVENTS!!!

DON’T FORGET!

THIS saturday, 10/29, is Scrapbook Studio’s FIRST ever KIT R’ DONE CROP and BARGAIN BIN GARAGE SALE!!!

hours are 10:00 to 6:00 for both events — start time on sale may run a bit later depending on when we can get in.

the crop is FREE and is a chance for you to put together your Scrapbook Studio Kits, or to put together some you purchase saturday. call 210-541-9960 to sign up for the crop.

and Charlotte and I have been cleaning out our scrap rooms and have LOTS of stuff for the Garage Sale! papers, embellies, kit leftovers, decor’ items, some handmade gift items and MORE! and i’m clearing out LOTS of my tim holtz supplies – inks, embossing powders, as well as other stamping supplies including stamp sets. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BAGS and CHIPBOARD to protect your purchases!!! everything will be priced to sell!

Shirley Young Memorial Crop…

the 6th annual Shirley Memorial Crop will be held tomorrow!

there a still a few spots left if you’d like to attend. for $40 you get SIX, yes SIX – TWO page layouts, a goodie bag and FIFTEEN whole hours of crop time! plus lots of fun and friendship.

the crop is being held at the same room Jane from The Scrapbooking Factory holds her retreats at; the event room at Courtyard by Marriott at the Rim. so there is lots of room and you get your own LARGE table to crop at!

class and crop notes

i have updated my class info for september and you can find ALL the dates for the various locations i teach at on the sidebar on the left. i have also added a new bar for SCRAPBOOK STUDIO, and all classes and crops for that location, whether they are taught by me or not, will be posted there.

here are some highlights for september:

9/3: 6th Annual Shirley Young Memorial Crop:

To celebrate the life of the incomparable Shirley Young, Scrapbook Studio is joining forces with The Scrapbooking Factory to host a “Six-Pack & A Crop”. Even if you never met her, please join us to make 6 two-page layouts and crop for 15 hours, all for the low price of $40. This also includes a goody bag, friendship and fun!!! What a deal!!!

Space is limited, so please call soon to sign up! For those of you who have attended one of Jane’s retreats, the crop will be held in the same spacious room that she has her retreat at. You get a VERY large table all to yourself and will have PLENTY of room to crop!

9/8: PhotoFULL and Money $aving $ketches classes at Stamp Antonio…

i have added an afternoon PhotoFULL class since it has been VERY MUCH requested! i am hoping that all of you who have requested it will now make plans to attend! LOL! the afternoon and evening classes will feature the exact same project – so don’t think you need to attend both! but maybe having the afternoon option will be more convenient for some of you.

9/27: PhotoFULL and Money $aving $ketches classes at Scrapbook N’ More…

also as requested, i have begun teaching my 2 monthly classes at Scrapbook N’ More in new braunfels. these classes will feature the SAME projects that are offered earlier in the month at Stamp Antonio. so if Scrapbook N’ More is a more convenient location for you, OR if you usually attend classes at Stamp Antonio and the dates in a given month don’t work for you, now you have an option! this works vice versa too!

9/30: Cards to “Dye” for class at Stamp Antonio…

and for those of you who have asked about card classes, i am slated to do one at the end of the month at Stamp Antonio. you’ll make 3 cards, each one demonstrating a different technique using ColorBox’s new Archival Dye inks. i’ll have pics of samples up soon. this class will be a version of the class i taught for Clearsnap at CHA.

SCRAPBOOK STUDIO notes…

the schedule for crops for the remainder of the year is now up at the SCRAPBOOK STUDIO website under the “classes” tab. BUT, please be sure to double check dates as events get closer, since they are being announced so far in advance, they are SUBJECT TO CHANGE. we have added a new crop, the “kit r’ dun” crop! this crop is designed specifically to give you time to assemble Scrapbook Studio kits that you have purchased! we don’t want you letting kits pile up, we want you to put them together, get photos on them and get them in your albums. with that in mind, this crop is ABSOLUTELY FREE! the only requirement is that you work on SCRAPBOOK STUDIO kits during the crop!

FUTURE CLASSES…

a few things that are in the works are kids classes, christmas, disney and school themed altered book classes. whens and wheres will be announced as the details are finalized.

class news…

i’ve updated my class calendar thru july and there are several new additions!

first, due to the great response to the daytime classes i taught at SCRAPBOOK n’ MORE up in new braunfels today, i’ve gone ahead and scheduled them again for next month. so i’ll be teaching both photoFULL and money $aving $ketches there on tuesday, july 26. thanks to all who attended those classes today! if attendence keeps up and the classes show some signs of growth, i’ll continue to schedule them monthly.

for now, the classes will be the same designs and layouts that will be taught at STAMP ANTONIO at the top of the month. so if for some reason you can’t make the classes at Stamp Antonio, you might consider signing up for them at Scrapbook n’ More.

i have also been considering adding an afternoon photoFULL to the line up at Stamp Antonio, but i’ll probably wait until september to make that decision.

i also scheduled a decor class at Scrapbook n’ More as part of their “Christmas in July” series…

JOY wall decor hanging…

the project has lots of little goodies and vintage junque! it is a great way to display years of photos of your kids under the tree or on santa’s knee. ephemera is by GECKO GALZ. the price is $28, and the class will be on sat. july 30 from 10-12:30.

and one last note about classes at Scrapbook n’ More, i’ll be teaching 2 jewelry classes there next week on tuesday, june 28. they will be from 10:00 to 1:00 so if you have some down time during the day, come out and play! i don’t usually schedule project classes for either during the week or during the day. so take advantage if you are interested. there will be 2 projects offered, a pendant and a charm bracelet. since the techniques are similar, they will be taught together. but each project is priced individually; so if you only want to take one you can.

make & take crop:

 come and crop as long as you’d
like between the hours of 10:00 am and 6:00 pm

 receive TWO free one page make & take layouts {second “completer” page kits will be available}

 specials and/or sales on page
kits throughout the day

 $5.00 fee

the crop alone is a good deal at only $5, but with 2 FREE 1 page layouts, we are hoping you will think it’s a GREAT deal!

space is very limited, so please sign up early if you’d like to attend.

i won’t be teaching at ckc san marcos this year because they had NO class space left! LOTS of great classes are being offered; i’ve signed up for several!

and, i think that brings everthing up to date.

Scrapbook Studio Classes…

i wanted to post a reminder about my classes at Scrapbook Studio…

the disney altered book class is scheduled for this saturday, june 11…

but as of right now, only one person has signed up and i may have to reschedule it. if you were interested in taking this class, please call Craftiques to sign up. i’ll make the decision about rescheduling tomorrow around noon.

i also have a mom & me class scheduled for wednesday, june 15…

i know there was a lot of interest in getting this class going again, but i’m not sure how much everyone’s “summer plans” will affect attendence.

class updates…

i have been working on updating all my class info for june…

the class schedules in the sidebar have all been updated and as you can see, there are 2 new venues on it: SCRAPBOOK STUDIO and SCRAPBOOK N’ MORE.

i’ll be teaching my first classes for “myself” this month under Scrapbook Studio and i’m pretty excited about it!

here are the 2 classes that i’m offering…

the disney altered book is the next book in my “series” of altered books, but it is MUCH simpler than the other classes have been – so it is a great introduction if you haven’t taken an altered book class before. or just a quick and fun class {only 3 hours :) } if you have taken this type of class before. it’s a great way to show off your trip photos.

the summer fun mini album is a new mom & me project. so if you have kids that will soon be out of school and BORED, take them to a class! you and your child will work together on one project during the class time. and you’ll leave with a unique and fun little book that they can fill with photos of their summertime events. this class is geared to kids ages 6 and up.

Susan at Scrapbook N’ More, thanks to some persistant customers, has asked me to come teach a few classes at her store. so i’ve added some daytime classes to her june class schedule. i’ll have photos and more info up later this week.

i have also added the class supplies needed for money $aving $ketches and photoFULL at Stamp Antonio on june 2.

NSD was GREAT!

a BIG thank you for everyone who participated in or came out to visit us at our NSD event! we all had a fun time cropping {and doing a little shopping} all day LONG! there were lots of positive comments about the class/crop format, so hopefully we can do it again soon.

i remembered to snap a few pics during the day, but didn’t remember to snap THROUGHOUT the day as i had planned. as a result, i missed getting photos of jeri, karen or jane, but i think i got everyone else who came! you might notice that the gals are all working on the same layout in some of the shots – those were taken during the “class” part of the day and they were busy putting together one of the six layouts that they got to make…

class notes…

it’s been a few months now since SB911 closed, and i think things are going well and getting back on track! classes have been T-RIFFIC!

thanks to all of you who have been coming; i hope you all are starting to settle into the “new” routine! i would also like to thank carol and amy at STAMP ANTONIO and jane at THE SCRAPBOOKING FACTORY for their help in getting some of my classes going again.

i am going to craftiques tomorrow to put some SCRAPBOOK STUDIO classes on the schedule, and i’m working on scheduling some guest spots around town and out of town in the next few months – so stay tuned for more details about that.

the altered book class – “my life is a circus” was this past saturday and BOY, those ladies were DEDICATED! taking an altered book class is a little like running a marathon – you have to TRAIN for it! FIVE hours of non-stop scrapping! we did stop for a snack break to “fuel” up on a little protein and sugar in order to be able to PUSH THROUGH to the end.  i REALLY appreciate the gals that sign up for these classes. i hope those of you who came enjoyed it, and get the finishing touches added soon. i have loaded the photos that were requested, so hopefully that will help you finish up all the little details – but please e-mail if you have any questions!

this weekend there is a retreat put on by jane at THE SCRAPBOOKING FACTORY…

and i’ll be teaching a MIXED MEDIA MOTHER’S DAY ALBUM…

this book features a soft leather-ette album with a scalloped edge and a mixture of canvas and paper pages slipped into stitched trimmed page protectors. the pages are bound to the album with ribbon! PRETTY! we’ll be using a variety of spritzes,  screens and stamped images to alter the canvas pages. you’ll learn some fun techniques while making a book that will be a VERY special present for your mom, grandma, daughter, sister or friend..

there are still a few spots available for this class, and you don’t have to be attending the retreat in order to sign up, so please call jane at 210-857-8697  if you are interested.
