CLASS INFO: {school years} altered book class

blog collage 1

class: {school years} altered book

location: Scrapbook N’ More

date: may 3

time: 12:30 to 5:30

cost: $65 {no kit fee for this class}

this book is FULL of fabulous vintage finds: cool 40’s skinny pencils, 60’s plastic apple charms, HUGE 6 X 8 phonics cards from the 30’s, flash cards from the 30’s – 50’s, vintage game pieces and MORE! there are also some custom chipboard pieces featuring some fabulous vintage school related ephemera.

the book will be a wonderful way to display not only your child’s school photo through the years, but also their school work and art pieces. each year has a pocket for placing these treasures – you can scan and shrink to fit more in. there are also places for notes and a mini folder at the end that can hold more special momentos.

a great graduation gift idea for not only the graduate, but maybe mom or grandmom.

if you haven’t taken any of my altered book classes before, this is a good one to start with. once you learn the process, most of the book is repetition. if you are an “altered book veteran”, you’ll enjoy learning some new techniques featured in this book.

student supply list: trimmer, scissors – heavy and detail, stapler, ruler, pencil, bone folder, Zip Dry and 3–1 glues, white gel or chalk pen,  ColorBox Catseye Ink: Chestnut Roan and Alabaster or Popcorn, 3d foam tape or squares and fine tip brown pen

NOTE: i HIGHLY recommend using Zip Dry and or 3-in-1; preferably both. these adhesives perform extremely well for this type of project – and no – Beacon Adhesives does NOT pay me to say that!

thank you!

  1. Tami,
    Your class was great! I still need to add the embellishments and hope to do that this weekend. I love all the pockets you came up with for this book. Especially like the little journal we made.
    Thanks and I look forward to the next book project. How about a summertime fun theme! That would keep us cool for a while.

please leave a comment; i'd love to hear from you!
