Happy New Year!!!

happy new year – a week and a half late! lol!

i realized today that this january marks the beginning of the 8th year of my blog; my first post was january 3, 2008.

i only began blogging because i was tired of answering “no” when asked if i had one. to me “blog” sounded like such a depressing, techie word – B—L—O—G – like a foghorn with a nasal twang – that’s what i heard in my head anyway!

i haven’t always been consistent with my posts, but some of you have hung in there with me anyway from the start. and i’ve picked up a few new readers along the way.

i reread my first blog posts, and if you are interested in seeing what was going on in january 2008, click HERE.

i’m not sure what all 2015 will bring, besides my oldest graduating high school – YIKES! i like to contemplate my teaching and design schedules about this time each year. so far, i haven’t decided to make many changes. i’m still planning on teaching my photoFULL and money $aving $ketches classes and planning a few altered book classes. i may offer some seasonal mini book or altered projects, but will probably wait to see if i’m inspired by a paper collection or idea!

the next altered book i am planning is a texas themed one. i am leaning to doing it in the DE-constructed style as i think it will work better with the embellishments i have in mind. i am still collecting tiques and trinkets for it. i will be using stamps from Paper Wings Productions, which is owned and operated by carrie avery which some of you know. i think the class will probably be in march – either before or after spring break. hopefully timed right for your bluebonnet photos!

wishing you all a very happy and prosperous new year!
