happy mother’s day…

happy mother’s day to all you moms out there!

we are celebrating early. our go to family restaurant for special occasions is Golden Wok – we all LOVE dim sum!

so my mom doesnt miss church, we are going tomorrow.

at some point i realized this meant i needed cards early too! lol!

i started to begin from scratch, digging around for stamps, inks, papers, etc. but then remembered my BIG shoebox stuffed with “extries”. extra stamped bits, leftover portions of embossed designs, paper scraps – you get the idea.

i looked through my stash and found some pretty flowers and leaves i had inked as well as a sparkly background i had made.

i then turned to canva to create the sentiments. it wasn’t super quick, but quicker than if i’d started from scratch. funny how fast you can design something if you begin with premade bits!

i used a pencil to add the scribbled edging to the card as well as to the borders of the sentiment. i enjoy doodling and pencil gave the soft effect i wanted and —- if you mess up or dont like it, you can erase it!
