new clearsnap products!

among CLEARSNAP’s new releases at cha were DESIGN ADHESIVES, GLITTER and some new EMBOSSING POWDER colors… they aren’t in stores yet, but they will be soon!

DESIGN ADHESIVES are a little like rub ons, you place them where you want them and rub them on, but what you get when you peel away the backing, is a design in adhesive. it’s sticky so you can add glitter, embossing powder, pearl-ex, flocking, microbeads, etc. the new GLITTERS work wonderfully with the design adhesives! they are super fine and have a brilliant shine! you can also cut the design adhesives apart and place the pieces where you want them, or put one element down at a time to easily layer on colors.

i’ve made 2 wedding cards using the new products. i used a fancy scroll pattern with metallic papers and glitters on one, and the other card is more casual with hearts and pink and blue papers and embossing powders. the directions and supplies for both cards are given. (and yes, i KNOW that number 8 in the directions for the mr & mrs card is showing up as a smiley face! i have NO idea why though! LOL!)

2 classes coming up this sat aug 23!

i have 2 classes coming up this saturday; there is still time to sign up for one or BOTH!

first up is my mom & me class – we are making a cute little mini album on a clipboard this time. you and your child will work together to complete the project and your child will get to select their own papers and embellishments!

class time is 8-23 from 10:00 to 12:30

next up is a mini album class… we’ll be making a fun and colorful acrylic mini album to hold some of your favorite summer photos! we’ll be using stickles and rhinestones to add some BLING!

class time is 8-23 from 1:00 to 4:00

also i wanted to share some photos from july’s mom & me class. we made a mini album and they all turned out GREAT! just click on the pic below, then hit slideshow for the best viewing!

july mom & me class

i did the mom & me classes over the summer and they were a LOT of fun! i am thinking of continuing them every month or possibly every other month. any input from YOU would be appreciated! i also welcome any other class ideas – so if there is a class you’d like to take, but don’t see offered, SPEAK UP!

i am also thinking about making kits available online every other month or so, again any input would be appreciated. i get comments on my classes from gals that aren’t from san antonio, and i thought it might be nice to offer them the opportunity to take some classes from a distance! nothing definite – but YOUR comments would be VERY helpful!

well, that’s it for now, i hope to work on some new projects for the blog on monday!

it’s my b-day!

i don’t even know why i make mention of it – i’m getting too OLD for birthdays, i’m DONE having them!  well, i guess i should say i’m done celebrating them! lol!

my kiddos start back to school on thursday, and drew, my oldest has his orientation tonite. his MIDDLE school orientation! i don’t think i’m ready to have a middle-schooler!

i think we are going to take the kids bowling, then go to the orientation and catch dinner afterwards – an ACTION PACKED EVENING wouldn’t you say! i AM getting old! where’s the drinking, the dancing the partying – wait – i never did that anyway – even when i was younger! (well, maybe just a little)…

i guess i should have prepared a little card or something to share for my b-day – but i DIDN’T! that probably would have been a good idea!

But… i should have some new things to show you soon, i did get the new DAISY BUCKET lines, and i’m expecting a shipment of some of the new clearsnap items. in the meantime, i’d still like to see what you are up to, maybe if YOU have a b-day card to share you could send it and i’ll post it! LOL!

i’ll also be posting later this week about some of my upcoming classes. not all the pics for them are up on the scrapbook 911 calendar yet. but they should be soon! and for those of you who are locals – be SURE to check out tinka’s new classes! starting in september, she will be teaching 2 – heritage based classes – GOT ANCESTORS on sept 18, and THOSE WHO SERVE on sept 25. the samples are up, so be sure to check them out when you are at the store!

well… i’m off to BOWL!

here’s some more “shared” projects…

donna sent me several pics of layouts she has done. a few are from my classes, but most she created on her own…

notice her use of color in the layouts below; they really make the photos POP! a few of her layouts feature cardstock only, which can be great to use alone when you want to create a backdrop for your landscape or scenic photos. the embellies on those layouts are used sparingly. just enough to add “just a touch of something”, but not so much that they overpower the photos. the mosiac layout is REALLY awesome! i’m sure it took some time to do, but the payoff was worth it. i LOVE the “spoiled” layout with all the pets! the black and white photos look great against the black & white papers, and the red adds a dash of flash!

so, without further ado, here are donna’s layouts…

so THANKS donna for sharing your projects! who’s next? please feel free to send me YOUR work ANYTIME! i’ll be glad to post it!

share your projects!

i’ve asked before, but i’ll ask again! anyone want to share their projects???

it can be ANYTHING that you have made that you want to show off! it can be a project that you worked on in a class of mine, or a layout you made on your own, a card, paper project, even a photo – ANYTHING! i just thought it would be fun to see what some of YOU are up to!

denesa was nice enough (or brave enough!) to send me pics of 2 layouts that she completed in my photo full class. coincidentally – denesa chose papers from REMINISCE for BOTH of her projects! she has good taste don’t ya’ think! LOL!

the first layout features MY JUNGLE SAFARI line:

the other layout features the HAPPY BIRTHDAY line, part of Reminsice’s new Signature Series:

denesa’s layouts turned out great! a BIG thank you for sharing with us denesa!

so – if you want to see YOUR project here, just send me a photo of it!
