classes tomorrow at Stamp Antonio…

after taking august off {HAH!}, i’m ready to pick back up with classes again!

tomorrow, i’ll be at STAMP ANTONIO teaching my 2 monthly classes – Money $aving $ketches and PhotoFULL

if you click on the links under the “class photos, descriptions and supplies” heading in the left sidebar {right under the snow angel blinkie}, you’ll see photos of the projects as well as the supply lists.

i am trying out an afternoon PhotoFULL class this month. it will be the EXACT same project taught in the evening class, just earlier for those of you who prefer to come earlier or can’t make it in the evening.

also keep in mind, that these same classes, Money $aving $ketches and PhotoFULL will be repeated at Scrapbooks N’ More in New Braunfels on 9/27. the exact same projects will be taught, so no need to come to classes at both stores, but it’s an option if you can’t make it to Stamp Antonio tomorrow.

hope to see you soon!

thanks,

Proud to be MADE IN THE USA Blog Hop

Did you know that all Clearsnap Products are manufactured right here in the United States, at their headquarters in Burlington, WA? They are!

Every inkpad is made right here in the USA under their loving, careful guidance so that it will be the best quality possible when it reaches your craft table (and for years to come).

To celebrate Clearsnap’s commitment to manufacturing products in the USA they have released a Limited Edition 3 Color Pigment Inkpad, MADE IN USA.

The Clearsnap Design Team has created stunning projects with this inkpad to share with you today, Labor Day! This inkpad has only been available to retailers purchasing inkpads and distinctive accessories direct from Clearsnap, as a “thank you” for their support.

But we’re giving one of these inkpads away!!!

Please visit all of the blogs listed at the end of this post, as part of today’s blog hop, and leave a comment on each blog. Each comment counts as an entry into the drawing. Comments must be posted by midnight 9-5-11 PST to be eligible for the drawing. A winner will be posted to the Clearsnap Blog on 9-6-11.

If you jumped in at the middle or accidentally found this hop while visiting a blog, please make sure you circle on around to the rest of the blogs to see ALL the amazing Clearsnap DT projects. AND be sure to leave comments at each stop in order to get your name entered to win as many times as possible!

NOW! On to the project!

I decided to create a project that would show the versatility of a ColorBox 3 Color Pigment Inkpad…

ColorBox 3 Color Pigment Inkpads are great because the ink colors can be used individually, or you can use all three inks together to get a varigated look.

I used a Stylus and Blender Tip to apply red and blue inks individually to the edges of the papers to distress them, and to create a border around the center layer of the pennants which was fringed…

A Stylus and Blender Tip was also used to apply ink to the chipboard letters, which were then stamped with a star using only the white ink…

The background on the inner pennant was created by inking the stamp across all 3 colors of the inkpad…

And the stars on the outer pennant were stamped using 2 adjacent colors on the 3 Color Inkpad…

The pennants were all traced onto kraft cardstock using the Build a Banner Template from Hot Off The Press. After they were cut out, the larger pennants were spritzed using the new Gingersnap Smooch Spritz to give them a little gLitZ!

Here are a few hints for using a ColorBox 3 or 5 Color Pigment Inkpad:

  • To use the colors individually, just dip small stamps into the desired color directly. If you have a stamp that is larger than the section, then use a Stylus and Blender Tip transfer the ink onto your stamp to avoid contaminating the other colors on your pad.
  • To use 2 adjacent colors, place your stamp across where the 2 colors meet – you can place your stamp half and half on the colors, or move the stamp over to use more of one color. And if you stamp is larger than the 2 sections, then transfer ink to your stamp using a Stylus and Blender Tip.
  • To use all the colors, place your stamp as you like across the pad, press gently, and stamp. And if your stamp is larger than your pad, either make sure you line up the colors to apply ink to another portion of the stamp, or use a Stylus and Blender Tip to transfer the ink.
  • To restamp, when using 2 or more colors, make sure you either 1) place your stamp in the EXACT same position on the pad – lining up the color residue on the stamp with the corresponding color on the pad or 2) clean your stamp in between images. Otherwise, you will contaminate the colors and muddy them up.
  • To create a varigated pattern when stamping a multiple image design, use all the colors, but clean your stamp in between stampings and vary the way you place the stamp on the pad.
