clearsnap projects!

i have been a BIG fan of the cat’s eye fluid chalk inks from Clearsnap for quite awhile. they are so quick and easy to use, and due to the small size, you can easily find room to store inks in every color of the rainbow! i use them for everything; inking edges of my papers, tinting chipboard to just the right color, stamping, etc. you name it, i’ve probably done it! LOL! if you taken any of my classes, you know they are almost ALWAYS on my supply list!

i recently got to play with more fun gadgets from clearsnap – some items from their Rollagraph line. i tried out some of their Jumbo Stamp Wheels paired up with their Ancient Page Inks. the wheels were really easy to load, and stamped perfectly; nice and even with good coverage. i made several quick & easy projects using them, and thought i’d share!

First, I made a few cards… i know the first two are a “little” out of season, but if you want to get a jump start on your Christmas cards, here are a few ideas! I’ve listed all the supplies as well as the directions needed to complete each project.

“Joyful Snowflakes” Card:

  1. Cut a 5″ X 10″ piece of teal cardstock and fold in half to make card.
  2. Cut a 5″ X 5″ piece of white cardstock, insert Neptune ink cartridge in Rollagraph handle, then add Snow Stamp Wheel. Roll stamp over cardstock, stamping the entire piece. Change ink cartridge to Cobalt (make sure you clean stamp wheel after ink changes). Roll stamp over cardstock, stamping the entire piece. Trim cardstock to to 4″ X 4″ and ink edges using Azurite chalk ink. Mat square on 4 1/4″ X 4 1/4″ piece of black cardstock and adhere to front of card.
  3. Cut a 3″ X 9″ piece of white cardstock. Insert Coal Black ink cartridge in Rollagraph handle, then add Snow Stamp Wheel. Roll stamp over cardstock. Cut out 5 snowflakes from stamped images. Adhere snowflakes to card, adhering the largest one with a 3D Dot. Add pearls to centers of snowflakes.

  3. Stamp verse using clear stamps inked with Dark Brown chalk ink.

and lastly… I made a quick layout using a “glam” shot i took of my son!

“Heartful of Love” layout:

Clearsnap products:

  • Rollagraph Jumbo Handle
  • Rollagraph Jumbo Stamp Wheel – Dancing Hearts
  • Ancient Page Jumbo Cartridge  – Coal Black
  • ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink – Lime Pastel, Yellow Citrus, Warm Red, Charcoal, Prussian Blue and Rouge

Other products:

  • Worldwin – Light Heritage White cardstock
  • Prism – Intense Kiwi and Black
  • Signo – Gel Impact Pen – white
  • Ranger – Cut n’ Dry Foam
  • Q-Tips

Directions:

  1. Trim an 8 X 10 photo to approx 7 1/2″ X 8″. Mat first on black cardstock, then on white, then again on black. (white mat is about twice as wide as black mats)
  2. Cut 2 – 3″ X 12″ pieces of white cardstock, insert Coal Black ink cartridge in Rollagraph handle, then add Dancing Hearts Stamp Wheel. Roll stamp over cardstock, stamping the entire piece. Trim one piece to 11 1/2″ X 2 1/4″ and tint using chalk inks applied with Cut n’ Dry foam.  Color in small hearts using Warm Red chalk ink applied with a Q-Tips. Ink edges lightly with Charcoal chalk ink and mat on a 11 3/4″ X 2 1/2″ piece of black cardstock.
  3. Cut out 10 hearts from other stamped strip. Color 3 hearts using Yellow Citrus chalk ink, 2 using Lime Pastel chalk ink, 2 using Prussian Blue chalk ink, and 3 using Rouge chalk ink. Tint designs in hearts using chalk inks applied with Q-Tips. Ink edges of hearts using Warm Red chalk ink on the pink hearts, Rouge chalk ink on the yellow hearts, Lime Pastel chalk ink on the blue hearts and Yellow Citrus chalk ink on the green hearts.
  4. Freehand draw “L”, “V” and “E” letters on white cardstock; then cut them out. Color them as follows: “L” use Prussian Blue chalk ink with edges inked in Lime Pastel chalk ink, “V” use Rouge chalk ink with edges inked in Warm Red chalk ink and “E” colored with Lime Pastel chalk ink with edges done in Prussian Blue chalk ink. Ink the edges of all 3 letters lightly using Charcoal chalk ink.

Then put it all together…

First add black matted strip to bottom of page, then add photo. Adhere title to top of photo, using a 3D dot to adhere a heart in place of the “o”. Also use a 3D dot to adhere a pink heart over the child’s heart in the photo. Next add hearts along the right side of the photo, using 3D Dots to adhere 2 hearts on top of the stamped strip. Finally, add your journaling “heartfull of love” along the left side of photo using white pen.

and – that’s it… i hope you enjoy these!

2 classes at scrapbook 911 this saturday…

i’ll be teaching 2 classes this saturday, april 26th, at scrapbook 911.

first up is a baby album featuring papers by GRAPHIC 45; the colors are soft and sweet and perfect for displaying your precious baby photos. it would also be a special shower gift.

and, for mother’s day; a unique little album she can display at home or at work. Fill the pages with photos and or special quotes. this colorful little album would also make a perfect “end of year” teacher gift as well.

space is limited, so please call scrapbook 911 to reserve your place!

new JET SETTERS by reminisce!

reminisce introduced a NEW 3-D travel embellishment line at CHA called JET SETTERS. these little embellies are FABULOUS! they are triple layered and really add a lot of punch and depth to your pages and projects. they are available in all the states and a LOT of countries! if you take a lot of travel photos, you need to check these out!

they just sent us some to play with and here are 2 projects i did using them…

first up is a layout i did using a photo i had taken of christopher on his 4th birthday. he is wearing a vintage roy rogers jacket that my brother wore when he was little (no my brother is not QUITE that old, it was a hand-me-down to him!)

p.s.: thanks charlotte for the “badge” idea!

next up is a clear mini album i made using photos from our trip to california this year. the JET SETTERS were the perfect “little” embellies to add that finishing touch!

to view all the new JET SETTERS visit the REMINISCE WEBSITE. Be sure to check out the gallery while you are there, the other design team gals should be adding their fantastic projects in the next few days!

TFL!

what’s been going on…

well, i always worried that if i had a blog, i’d end up falling behind and NOT keeping it up! and – it happened! LOL!

i’ve had a LOT on my plate the past month or so, and haven’t been able to post as much as i’d like, and i definitely haven’t been able to show you much in the way of projects. i’m hoping that will change in the coming weeks.

my grandmother passed away the day after i got back from cha, and even though she was 101, it still came as a bit of a shock. i think when someone lives that long, you just think that they will go on forever… so my family and i have been dealing with her death and trying to take care of her estate.

i was a little surprised to find myself in somewhat of a creative “slump” in the weeks that followed. scrapbooking had always been my “therapy”, and here i was totally UNINSPIRED to create anything.

i took some time off from submitting and just concentrated on the things that i had to get done. it’s been slow going – i’m just now beginning to feel that i’m ready to start playing with paper & glue again!

i still have some personal things to take care of this month, but hopefully after that, i’ll be back up and running.

now, onto some NEW news…

i have been asked to teach at scrap-a-ganza in houston in june. i’ll be teaching 3 classes; they will be beginning to list the classes offered on april 7th, so you can check out their site for all the info!

i’ll also be teaching a class at BY DESIGN SCRAPBOOK BOUTIQUE the Friday before SCRAP-A-GANZA, but more to come on that later.

2 classes on Monday!

i have 2 classes at scrapbook 911 this monday, april 7th.

first up is sketch & crop; for the “sketch” portion of the class – i’ll provide the sketch, you bring the photos, pick out your choice of papers and embellishments and LEAVE with TWO – 2 page layouts! for the “crop” part, i’ll be on hand to help you select papers, and give you layout ideas while you crop.

my other class is a NITE TIME version of this class! we’ll do the “sketch” part, and skip the “crop” part!

please come to one of these classes, but DON’T come to BOTH – the sketch is the same for the daytime and nitetime classes!
