thank you,

my father was taken from us suddenly saturday morning…

i would appreciate it if you would keep my family close to your hearts and remember us in your prayers…

there will be a memorial service for my dad on friday, october 1 at 10:00 am. the service will be held at porter loring mortuary located at 2102 north loop 1604 east. a brief reception at my parent’s home will follow.

in lieu of flowers, my mother has requested that donations be made in my dad’s name, W.G. Wilson, to CAL FARLEY’S BOYS RANCH. for his own reasons dad supported this organization faithfully through the years.

new kits…

i’ll be putting out 2 brand new kits at SCRAPBOOK 911 today…

there is a soft, romantic, shabby chic layout that will be one of my “cheap frills” kits, so it’s only 9.99! the other layout is school themed – so suitable for first day of school photos or maybe school portraits. the cost on the school kits is 12.99.

here’s a look at the kits…

if you are not from San Antonio and are ever interested in any of my kits or classes, Scrapbook 911 does ship. you can check out their blog too to see what is new, you might see some products you want as well!

sneak peek…

now that my ckc classes are over, it’s time to concentrate on getting ready for some upcoming local classes…

i’ve been hard at work on the sample book for the BEWITCHED halloween altered book class for Stamp Antonio.  i’ve been collecting bits and pieces from estate sales, flea markets and specialty stores for MONTHS to use on this book, and i’m determined to get them ALL in there!

i am not done — yet — but hope to be able to finish the sample sometime this week. i’ve made good progress on the book though, and i wanted to give you a little peek at some of the elements.

i had a somewhat “campy” look in mind, something that would feel a little retro and a little kitchy. so far, i’m happy with how it is coming along and i hope you will be too!

here’s some little treats to tie you over til the book is finished…

the class is scheduled for saturday, oct.2 from 1:30 to 6:30. space for this class is very limited, and once it’s full it’s FULL! since lots of the goodies used in the book were picked up here and there, i can’t get more! so if you are at all interested, please call Stamp Antonio to sign up.

ckc san marcos – day #2…

we headed up to san marcos this afternoon, a made a quick stop at scrapbook haus in new braunfels after lunch. scrapbook haus is a nice store with a good selection of products, so we had a good time purusing.

after that, we went on into san marcos and got to the convention center about an hour before laura and i had a class. my friend charlotte went up with us today, and since she didn’t get a to shop yesterday, she made a dash in today to check out the show. laura and i found some comfy chairs again and sat down to wait for class time.

we were both taking a class from SimpliCraft called Beyond the Square; which showed different ways to use shaped mats – like large scalloped circles, or bracketed squares, etc. we made 3 one page layouts and 1 two page layout all with different shaped diecuts and different techniques. the class was nicely paced, and since almost everything was precut for you, you could take your time putting the layouts together. i thought the class was a great value, you got lots of layouts, plus some extra product to play with. and there were lots of little idea “nuggets”! good ideas and techniques to use and apply to other layouts too. and the instructor was wonderful as well; clear concise verbal directions, as well as great written directions.  laura ended up finishing up all the layouts she made in the class AND got photos, titles AND journaling on all of them tonight! so obviously the layouts were pretty easy to find photos for and USE!

my mini book class was scheduled for right after the Beyond the Square class in the exact same room! so as soon as i was done taking the class, it was time to get up and prep for MY class! laura and charlotte were there as the “vanna’s”; to wander around holding up the samples and help anyone who needed it. i also had a ta, Mari, who was great! she hopped right in there and was a HUGE help! we had the book all prepped and were ready to begin putting things together after only 20 minutes! the class was full, so i was AMAZED at how quick everyone was working! things went VERY smoothly, and the class was able to work on some extra bits that they would normally have to complete at home. we finished on time and pretty much everyone had all the steps completed when they left.

i am SO happy, delighted, grateful, tickled pink – i could go on – that the classes went so well! i always stress a little; i want everyone who takes one of my classes to leave happy! i want them happy with the class, happy with the instruction, happy with the pace and most of all – happy with the project!

a great big shout out and thank you to laura, charlotte and tinka for helping me with CKC Houston and San Marcos. i am POSITIVE, that your help, support and efforts were a LARGE part of things going according to plan, and the classes running smoothly! SO THANK YOU ALL!

i also appreciate each and every person who signed up and came to one of my classes. i know there are a lot of classes at CKC to select from, so THANK YOU for deciding to give mine a try. i hope you had a great time and learned something useful!

it was fun, but i am SO glad it’s over! this was a large undertaking for me; but i did it! {with a little help from my friends!}

ckc san marcos… day #1

day #1 of ckc san marcos went wonderfully!

i went with my friend laura and we got there about 10:30 or so. we shopped a bit – bought a LOT – then had lunch. then shopped some more! but after a few hours we were WORN out! so although we still had more than an hour before my class started, we cried “uncle” and found some comfy chairs to collapse in while we waited!

we saw lots of scrappers we knew, it was like a mini reunion! it was nice to see gals that we hadn’t seen in awhile.

we were able to get into the classroom right on time and had everything set up and ready to go with time to spare. the class was pretty full – in fact – if we’d had any more i’m not sure where we would have put them! LOL! today’s class was PHOTOFULL and we had the first layout COMPLETELY done in 20 minutes FLAT! the second one took a bit longer, but we still ended early. i can’t believe how speedy everyone was! an hour isn’t a lot of time to get 2 layouts done – especially PHOTOFULL layouts, but we had everyone wrapped up, chatted with a few folks, cleaned up and were on our way out a FULL minute before the class was scheduled to end! WHOO! WHOO!

a BIG thanks to laura – my “vanna” for the day, and to my ta’s cheri and purvi! thanks gals – you were great!

tomorrow is the BIG day – my mini book class! and it is FULL! so it’s going to be a bit more hectic than today. but i am hoping that things run as smoothly tomorrow as they did today!

thanks for all the interest in the “back issue” sale!

i’ll have the class books available during my classes until october 15. so if you are taking any of my classes between now and then, you’ll be welcome to flip through and place an order. i am also at most of the saturday night crops, so if you would like to look at them then, just drop me an e-mail and i’ll let you know if i’ll be there.

back “issue” sale!

for those of you who take any of my monthly classes on a regular basis, you may have heard me mention that i would be making some of my past classes available for order.

well – i have them ALL lined up and ready to go! i have several years worth of PhotoFull, Sketch & Crop and Money $aving $ketch class directions available.

i will be selling all of the “back issues” for the bargain price of $4 each. so if you missed a few months here and there or you are new to one or more of the classes and and would like to see what you missed – now is the time!

if you are local, i have books containing all of the class sheets if you would like to flip through and select the class directions you would like copies of.

for those of you who are out of town – i haven’t yet figured out a way for you to view sample photos of the classes, so if you are interested, please contact me and i’ll let you know when i DO figure it out!

each set of directions is complete with a list of supplies needed, cutting directions and color photos of the project.

i’ll be bringing the class books with me to my september classes at Scrapbook 911, so if you are taking one of those classes, you can peruse them then. otherwise, please e-mail me and i’ll work out a time to meet up.

thanks for your interest in my classes! it is GREATLY appreciated!

new kits…

i’ll be putting out 2 new kits at Scrapbook 911 tomorrow…

since we are ALL cutting back on our spending, i’m trying something new! BOTH of these new kits will be priced at only 9.99 – i’m calling them “cheap frills!” — see what you think…

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

everthing is pretty much done for you on both of these kits, just slap the papers down, add your photos and you are DONE! of course you could dress them up if you like, but i think they are fine as they are as well. i chose not to include a specific title on either of them so you could personalize it to your photos. the birthday layout is OBVIOUSLY for a birthday, and 2 stamped elements, “happy birthday” and “celebrate” are included, but you could add a large number to show what birthday it was for example. as for the other kit, i didn’t want to “define” it. it’s a basic layout with a rainbow of colors that could match a variety of photos and themes. so what you use it for is up to you: family, mother’s day, baby or maybe just some cute shots of your child.

i’ll be adding a few more “cheap frills” kits in the next week or so, but i’ll post again when they are out.
