class updates…

it seems like march has just FLOWN by – must have been all the wind! LOL!

i thought i’d have SO much time on my hands with scrapbook 911 closing, but that has NOT been the case. i’ve been very busy trying to get all of my april classes lined up and scheduled, as well as getting ALL of the samples for the classes DONE!

i have the NEW CLASS INFO PAGES up on both my PHOTOFULL and MONEY $AVING $KETCHES classes. if you look to the left, just below my son chris’ snow angel bLiNkie, you’ll see a heading for: “class photos, descriptions and supplies“. if you click on the links there, you will find pages containing info about current classes, including photos, class supply lists, tools needed as well as class notes. this is the BEST place to check for ALL the info you need about my classes. i am hoping to be able to create a page for each class that i teach.

all of my class info has been updated and is current, but there are a few more classes that will be added for april in the next week or so.

i am hoping that there will be a GREAT turnout at STAMP ANTONIO for my april PhotoFULL and Money $aving $ketches classes, as Amy and Carol were nice enough to provide a “home” for these classes. since they don’t have a large selection of papers and cardstocks yet – they are in the process of GROWING that section of their store :) – you will need to bring your own supplies to these classes – which is why they are priced at only $8! you can find out exactly what you need to bring by clicking on my “class pages”. i did find the printed papers i used on all the april class layouts at Stamp Antonio though – so if you like what i used, you can find those there!

both classes will be held on thrusday, april 7 – Money $aving $ketches will be held from 10:30 to 12:30…

and PhotoFULL will run from 6:00 to 8:00…

i’ll also be teaching 2 other classes at STAMP ANTONIO this month…

if you like jewelry and would like to learn how to make your own unique pieces using SMOOCH ACCENT INKS and stamps, then plan to attend one or both of these classes…

dangle gal or guy“…

and “charmed i’m SURE” bracelet class…

both classes are being taught together with work time of 1:00 to 4:00 on saturday, april 9. you can make one or both of these projects during that time. a variety of stamps and LOTS of SMOOCH colors will be available to choose from so you can customize your design as you like.

and last but not least, i am working on the next book in my aLteReD book series… “join the circus“. this book will feature the new LE CIRQUE collection by GRAPHIC 45,  stamps from HAMPTON ART and ephemera from GECKO GALZ! i’ll post photos of the sample just as SOON as it’s ready – i hope to have it done by next week so stay tuned.

STAMP ANTONIO is accepting sign ups for all of these classes now, so please call them them at 210-764-7900  to sign up or for more information.

thanks!

new line from REMINISCE…

REMINISCE has just released a brand new line for spring called IN BLOOM

it’s just BURSTIN’ with spring colors and flowers; perfect for photos of your spring garden, spring school pics, easter, weddings, etc…

i was asked to create a wedding themed set, so i did a garden themed bridal shower set

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

the set consists of an invitation, thank you note, a place card – in a cute little can with some flowers, a favor – a few spring bulbs in a pretty organza bag and a centerpiece – a garden hat embellished with flowers. i also thought the hat would look pretty hanging on the front door like a wreath.

i really loved the colors in this collection, they were muted, but not “light”, just soft and pretty. i really liked the way the papers and embellishments came together too!

look for this line in stores SOON!

tfl!

for my project, i used the HOLLYWOOD part of the new REMINISCE CELEBRATION SERIES. my hubbie is a HUGE film buff, so i thought a party set using this line for his birthday would be a great idea!

the set includes an invitation with a popcorn bucket pocket holding the party info on film strips, a marquee-style centerpiece, a movie journal as a favor, and a clapboard place card.

here’s a closer look at the place card, as well as directions for how to make it…

the base of the place card is grey cardstock with a piece of GOLD CHAIN glitter cardstock from the GLITTER FACTORY line matted on the front. the clapboard sticker from the HOLLYWOOD ICON 12 X 12 STICKER was cut apart between the 2 striped boards and around  the hinge {keep the hinge attached to the bottom piece}, then both pieces were mounted on cardstock and cut out {cut straight across the bottom of the top piece of the clapper, don’t cut out around where the hinge was removed}.  then, a hole was punched through the rivet in the hinge and through the top clapper piece. a brad was used to join them together again – but this time, as a working clapboard…

the swirl of filmstrip was made by adhering 2 of the film strip stickers from the HOLLYWOOD FOLDED QUOTE STICKER back to back, and then pulling the strip along the side of the table to make it curl. the strip was cut apart so that part of it could be adhered under the top portion of the glitter mat to extend up, and the longer part glued beneath the top strip and tacked to the front of the card to swirl down…

to add a little more bLinG, a few stars from the HOLLYWOOD 12 X 12 ICON STICKER were adhered back to back to pieces of wire with a pop dot in between…

and then to personalize the place card; letters from the REAL MAGIC 2010 line – RED FOIL ALPHABET STICKERS, were used to add the name. and stars from the HOLLYWOOD 12 X 12 ICON STICKER and a word from the HOLLYWOOD FOLDED QUOTE STICKER finish it off…

The REMINISCE CELEBRATION SERIES is a FANTASTIC line that is great for party sets and for layouts of those parties: be sure to check out the other parts of the line too: FIESTA, CASINO, WESTERN, BBQ and LUAU.

i hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog; I appreciate your dropping in. the next blog on your list is SHELLY MAXWELL’S BLOG: PAPER ART BY SHELLY. Shelly is a VERY talented designer, and i’m sure you will like that stop on your HOP! don’t forget to post a comment under this post before you leave so you can get your chance at that BO-DA-CIOUS prize pack! and remember, if you get lost {or sidetracked :)}  you can always go back to the REMINISCE BLOG and find the link to pick up where you left off {you might want to bookmark it or add it to your favorites, just so you have it handy!}

thanks again! and have fun BLOG HOPPING!

p.s.: don’t forget to watch for the secret “bonus” stop and make SURE you post a comment there too! the winner will be selected from those posts will get the new IN BLOOM collection that is not yet available in stores!

WIN A KIT!!!

We’d like to start things off with a BANG at SCRAPBOOK STUDIO so Charlotte and I are offering up a free kit {or maybe TWO}!

If you’d like to get YOUR name tossed into the hat to win, there are several ways to do so. First, “like” us on Facebook and then add a post to our wall — that will get you one chance. Then, to earn MORE chances —  recommend us to your friends. You’ll earn one chance for every two friends you send over that “like” us too. All your friends need to do is to add a post to our wall letting us know YOU sent them over. We’ll be drawing and announcing the winner{s} the day of our Grand Opening {please stand by for more info on that event}. The number of “likes” we get between now and then will determine whether we draw names for one kit or for two! So, help SPREAD the word!

thanks!

say cheese!

i wanted to share a few pics from the demo/playtime at Stamp Antonio this past saturday…

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

thanks to you that came out to say hi and sit and play with the new Clearsnap products. we were using the new ColorBox Archival Dye Inks and the FABULOUS Fairy Dust Glitters by Donna Salazar. Stamp Antonio has these products in stock NOW! They sold out of most of the NEW Smooch Accent Ink colors, so they were taking special orders for them as well as the new JUMBO Smooch Spritzes and the Archival Dye Inks in the Queue stacks {they have the full size Archival Dye Inks in stock}.

we had a good time and everyone seemed to enjoy learning how to “watercolor” using the Archival Dye Inks. the inks are waterproof and archival as soon as they hit paper, but can be mixed with water and used like paint too! great multi-task ink!

we got glitter everywhere too, we were all SpaRkling! the Fairy Dust is SO ultrafine and oh, so shimmery! i’m sure you will be able to see traces of it around where we were sitting for weeks! LOL!

if you missed playtime this go around, hopefully i’ll be doing another one soon, so stay posted!

just to clarify…

i’ve had a few e-mails and questions, so just to clarify a few points…

1) i apologize again to anyone who went to SB911 monday night expecting my money $aving $ketches class and found instead an empty class room. i checked the sign up sheet on sunday afternoon and there was only ONE name on the list – and that student had actually already taken the class and just wanted a “refresher”. i wrote “cancel” on the sheet and asked the store employee to please call the student on the list and let them know that the class had been cancelled. as far as i knew, i had taken care of the class at that point. i don’t know how or where a mixup occured with the sign up sheet; but it seems that a LOT of people who signed up did NOT end up on the list. a few who had arrived early for the class, caught me as i was leaving and i explained the situation, but i missed any who may have came later. i would NOT have cancelled the class if there had been more than just the “repeat student” on the list. the lack of sign ups was the ONLY reason the class was cancelled, and i didn’t just leave the store without notification.  i had cancelled on sunday, and let the employees know both sunday and monday morning that there would be NO evening class. i know monday was a BIG, HUGE mass of CHAOS – so it is easy to see where things may have not been taken care of properly that day. if you thought you had signed up for the class, please e-mail me and i will send you the class sheet at no charge. i am sorry for any inconvenience, but had no way of knowing that there was or would be a problem.

2) yes, starting in APRIL, i WILL be teaching TWO classes at Stamp Antonio: Money $aving $ketches in the morning and PhotoFULL in the evening. this was a quick addition to their store calendar that was on “standby” until last week when 911 formally announced their closing. so not all of the employees at Stamp Antonio were aware of the classes or the details until mid week last week. it will take awhile for things to settle into a routine, so your PATIENCE is APPRECIATED! Stamp Antonio is working to add a little more product, space and classes for scrapbookers to their store, but that takes time, so please stay tuned for details and announcements. they appreciate any feedback or suggestions though, so don’t be afraid to speak up!

i’ve got some exciting things in the works so stay tuned!

thank you…
