traveled themed altered book class…

ok! it’s on!

i have set the deets for the travel themed altered book class:

when: saturday, april 12

where: Scrapbook N’ More in new braunfels – (830) 214-1690

time: 10:30 to 3:30

cost: $65

i will be working on the book this weekend and hope to have it finished soon; i’ll post pics as soon as i’ve finished.

as usual, munchies will be served about halfway through the class – especially needed since we’ll be working through lunchtime. susan, the store owner, has also offered to take orders for lunch before class, and have it delivered should anyone want to do that instead or in addition to what i’ll be bringing {please bring cash if you think you’ll want to order something}. so you won’t STARVE! LOL!

thanks!

photoFULL and money $aving $ketches classes…

the photoFULL and money $aving $ketches classes this tuesday, february 25, at Scrapbook N’ More, are the same layout designs as i taught at Stamp Antonio earlier this month. if you weren’t able to make that class, you have another chance at them this tuesday. cost is $15 per class and does include a supply allowance.

beginning in march, i will only be teaching my photoFULL and money $aving $ketches classes at Scrapbook N’ More in new braunfels – usually on the last tuesday of each month. class time is 10:30 to 1:30 and you can come and go as you like. you can take one class or both, it’s up to you! i’ll be there to help you during the class time.

starting in april – april 10 at 10:30 – Linda Norman will be teaching these 2 classes at her home. Linda has been taking my classes for awhile, and was nice enough to offer to teach these classes for those of you who liked them, but can’t make it out to new braunfels. you can contact Linda at: scrappytherapy@satx.rr.com to sign up or for more information.

Linda will be working a month behind… for instance, the PF and M$$ classes i teach in march at Scrapbook N’ More, will be offered by Linda in April.

thanks!

travel themed altered book is a GO!

thanks BUNCHES for all the comments and e-mails concerning my suggestion of a travel themed altered book class! due to the GREAT response, it looks like there is more than enough interest in this class – so i’ll get to work on the designing!

i will be at Scrapbook n’ More this tuesday, february 25, for my PhotoFULL and Money $aving Sketches classes, so i will try to set the date for this class then.

the “create-your-own” altered book class looks like it might be a possibility too. so i’ll keep spinning the idea around and see what happens!

i’ll post more info as soon as i have it. thanks again for your interest in this series.

next altered book? travel themed?

hi!

i’ve had a few ideas brewing for the theme of the next altered book in my altered book class series, one of which was “travel”.

i recently saw the ABROAD line from AUTHENTIQUE and thought it would work well for what i had in mind…

i was looking for a travel themed line that be “neutral” enough to work with most types of travel photos. trips by car, plane, train or boat. in colors that would work well for a variety of photos too. i think the Abroad line fits the bill on both counts.

i’ve been slowly collecting travel themed “junque” too, here are some of my finds…

vintage train tickets from the 40’s…

tickets (1024x683)

vintage maps…

maps (1024x683)

vintage toy model plane wooden propellers…

props (1024x683)

vintage airline “wing” pins that stewardesses used to hand out to children in the 60’s…

wing pins (1024x684)

and vintage travel stereo cards…

stereo cards (1024x683)

i’ve also got some vintage postcards and maybe some other goodies buried in my stash!

i’d like to get a general idea of the interest for this class, which would be held at Scrapbook N’ More in new braunfels. if you’d be interested in taking a class to make a travel themed altered book using these supplies and papers, please post a comment or use the contact me form at the top of the page.

comments about this proposed class or ideas for other altered book themes would be welcome.

i’ve also been contemplating a “create your own” altered book class – maybe in late spring or early summer. we’d cover my basic binding technique – for anyone new who hasn’t taken one of my classes before. then move onto different page configurations. i’d have lots of my “junque” stash on hand that could be used on your book. cost -wise, i would probably include a “purchase allowance” in the price of the class, so you could shop for what items you wanted. if you would be interested in attending a class like that, please let me know that also.

thanks for your continued interest in this series…

end of retreat…

well, the retreat is over (sigh) back to life… it was a nice break while it lasted.

i was very productive too, i finished 3 more layouts today, drew’s bday for chris’ book, and a layout of decorating the tree for both of them.

these two are completely done…

the third payout was a version of the Christmas deck-o-rating layout for drew’s book. it’s almost finished just needs a few finishing touches.

not too bad for a weekend!

last layout for tonight…

i’m calling it quits for the night; here’s my last layout…

Image

this one is of my now SEVENTEEN year old son — when did THAT happen!!!???

for those if you who take my monthly photoFULL classes; this layout may be making an appearance in the next month or so. and if you haven’t tried the class, and would like to find out how I got 18 photos on this layout with room for a few more, plan on attending one of my photoFULL classes to see how to get more photos on YOUR layouts!
