while we are on the subject of the FAB new Graphic 45 lines…

i finished an acrylic mini album using the NEW! BOHEMIAN BAZAAR line!

2013-06 boho chic acrylic mini album collage (1280x853)

this line is bright, fun and WHIMSICAL, and whimsical is the feeling i tried to capture in the design of this album! lots of unique touches from my vintage stash. and we’ll be stamping wispy scroll designs on the ends of all the pages using the NEW! Surfacez Inks from ClearSnap! these new inks stamp beautifully on slick surfaces like glass, plastic and acrylic and STAY put! the new inks come in 12 wonderful colors!

we have not set a date for this class yet, but the sample is done and is already at Stamp Antonio, i hope to have a date set soon! so please stay tuned.

altered book classes

hello!

well, Graphic 45 has outdone itself on it’s last 2 releases… i want to create altered book classes with ALL OF THEM!

i have already planned another halloween altered book using STEAMPUNK SPELLS, as it has been awhile since i offered a halloween themed book. and i had NO intention on even thinking about another christmas altered book, that is until i saw 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS.

now, i’m head over heels in love with TYPOGRAPHY! i  think it would make a great altered book that would lend itself to quite a few different themes and photos.

AND MOTHER GOOSE is adorable, and i’ve never done a baby or toddler book.

{click on any of the lines listed above and the link will take you to that line over on the G45 website so you can look it over}

i can also see using the 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS and MOTHER GOOSE for altered projects too – not necessarily altered books. and TYPOGRAPHY might work well in the new “deconstructed” style of altered book i’ve created like the French Country Recipe Binder.

in a “perfect” world, either i could afford to offer classes for free, or all of you would have unlimited resources and could take OODLES of classes! but alas… unfortunately, neither is true.

SO… i am requesting your input. IF you are interested in taking classes using ANY of these new G45 lines, please fill out the contact form below. please let me know:

1) which lines you are interested in seeing a class on

2) what type of class are you interested in for that line – book or altered project

and of course, you are NOT in any way committing yourself to attend any class, but if you aren’t REALLY interested in taking a class using one of these lines, please don’t play along. the stores i teach at have to order product for classes based on the interest level, so it helps to have YOUR input!

i love to create new and interesting projects for classes, but i couldn’t do that without those of you who attend my classes! BIG thanks to you all for allowing me to do what i love to do!

thanks!

tami

attn: cards for military makers

i am going through ALL my supplies and clearing out those i don’t need…

one of the items I have multiples of are stickers for military branches: army, navy, marines and “generic” military…

20130708-030705.jpg

i would like to donate them to a group that is ACTIVELY making cards for servicemen and women.

preference will be given if a group is based in san antonio.

PLEASE do NOT request these if making cards is just something you are thinking about doing or if you intend to use them for personal use or to resell.

i may have some coordinating papers, if i find some, i’ll include them as well.

i will also be posting some more info about what supplies you might have that charities can use and how to donate.

as crafters, our supplies tend to grow to monumental proportions without frequent pruning – as i am discovering! obviously, i am NOT a very good gardner! not NEAR enough pruning!

please drop me an email if your group can use the stickers!

thanks!

Hopefully, you started the hop at the beginning — at the CLEARSNAP BLOG. if you didn’t, you might want to go back and start over at the ClearSnap Blog so you can see ALL the projects! Plus, the project for my blog begins with leftovers from the project I made and posted to the ClearSnap Blog, so you might feel a little confused if you don’t view that post first.

I LOVE being able to use leftover bits and things that might otherwise get tossed. This card is a great example of upcycling your paper craft “trash”. I thought it would make a nice “thank you for your service” card for your favorite military gal. Delete the gems for a great card for your favorite military guy ;)

All the supplies for this project – with the exception of the gems, came from the leftovers from my frame project or papers from my scrap bag – including the card base.

The red piece and the thin blue border strip were both leftover from the kraft paper that I sprayed with the Stephanie Barnard Sprays! for the frame, and the stars were leftover from that project as well. The diecut frame was a “negative” of a piece I had cut for another card. No sense in tossing it out! Negatives from your diecuts can be very useful. The cream piece that the sentiment was stamped on came from my scrap bag. Twine? leftover from the frame project. AND, my favorite part of this card – the red, white and blue “camo”  print. This strip was made by placing a piece of kraft paper over the ink left on the paper I sprayed the papers from the frame over. {I usually use my Color Catcher, but I was spraying a lot of pieces so I put down a big piece of paper}. Whenever you spray or spritz, there is usually some ink left in the bottom of your Color Catcher or whatever surface you sprayed on, so why waste it. I liked how the piece came out, it looked like a camo print to me!
