{all in the family} altered book class

i know… i know… i’m a day (or so) late with this – but i TRIED!

but i am FINALLY done with the sample! if i could have stopped myself from going back and rethinking and adding MORE goodies and little touches MAYBE i could have finished on time :)

here are pics of the book…

i added some NEW! elements to this book including file cabinet “drawers” on the side of the book that REALLY open and a mini “journal” that is part of the book and can be opened.

also, in addition to all the little treasures and trinkets i add, we’ll be using some REAL vintage office products in the class as well, like this old, huge, 30 pound dymo label maker…

you’ll use it to create your own custom label to use in the book…

you can also select a custom date and use this vintage “received” stamp to add an accent to a folder in your. the “confidential” stamp on the front of the folder is also from a vintage stamp…

i’ve also created some custom printables using vintage ephemera like the vintage photo folder on the front cover, old dictionary pages, a family tree and a family records page.

this class MAY have to be rescheduled if we do not get enough sign ups. my altered book classes are too labor intensive to teach to a small class. i HOPE this will not happen! please help spread the word!

i usually plan the altered book classes around holidays or special occasions so am on the lookout for paper lines to use WELL in advance. i had wanted to do a family altered book, but had not found a paper line i liked. i happened to see this FAB line by Kaiser during one of my classes at SBNM last month and thought it would be perfect for the book and it would be GREAT if i could schedule it before father’s day. i knew it would be pushing it, but hadn’t realized how crowded my schedule would be with personal items in the following weeks. i’m really excited about how the book turned out though, and hope you will be to!
