dad was taken into the er thursday nite because of some bleeding from the site of a biopsy that he had earlier in the week. he also had some irregularities in his heart.
while there, he experienced some massive bleeding from the same site and was rushed into emergency surgery to find and hopefully stop the bleeding. the surgeon found a ruptured artery that was causing the bleeding and repaired it. in all, dad has had 6 pints of blood since he arrived.
he seems to be stable now, the bleeding appears to have stopped and his vitals are good. they will keep him over the weekend for observation.
admidst all this, he received the biopsy results and was diagnosed with prostate cancer. he also had a bone scan and thankfully, that has come back negative, so it doesn’t look like the cancer has spread.
we haven’t been able to discuss any treatment options as of yet due to all the trauma and problems surrounding the biopsy.
my family and i would appreciate it if you would keep us in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days. and weeks ahead.
