class updates…

first, a BIG thank you to everyone who took my steampunk spells altered book class! the class was FULL a week in advance – this really, REALLY helped me prep-wise as i was able to start getting ready for the class EARLY! i hope you all enjoyed the class and are working on your book. i mentioned in class that i would send you larger pics from the class. i decided to just post all the pics in a private page here on my blog. if you attended the class and would like bigger pics, send me an e-mail {click contact me on the tab above} and i’ll send you the link to the page.

BOHO CHIC acrylic mini album from 10:00 to 1:00, cost $35…

a plain acrylic mini album gets quite a facelift using the NEW! Bohemian Bazaar from Graphic 45. Bohemian Bazaar is bright, fun and WHIMSICAL, and whimsical is the feeling i tried to capture in the design of this album! lots of unique touches from my vintage stash. and we’ll be stamping wispy scroll designs on the ends of all the pages using the NEW! Surfacez Inks from Clearsnap! this album would make a fab holiday gift! the color and style make it the perfect present for your favorite free spirited gal: sister, daughter, granddaughter or friend. fill it with photos or gift it empty, either way it’s sure to be appreciated.

then, from 2:00 to 6:00 we’ll be having a “get crafty” workshop…

we’ll be using ColorBox Crafter’s Inks and stencils by The Crafter’s Workshop to embellish a tote bag. you’ll learn tips and techniques on how to use and combine the stencils to customize your own unique design and create a personalized tote for yourself or for a gift. you can stay for as long as you like and embellish additional items {aprons, child aprons and totes will be offered for $8 or less}. this class is a REAL bargain a $18 – which includes all the supplies and 1 tote. BUT, for an even better value, plan to come and make several items. you will want to arrive at 1:30 to see demos and to learn several techniques.  you do NOT have to BE an artist to FEEL like one! the stencils and inks are easy to use and you’ll be amazed at the wonderful designs YOU can create! this is a great opportunity to “play” with these products, i have DOZENS of stencils in a BIG variety of styles and themes. you can also put what you learn to work on your scrapbook pages, cardmaking and mix’d media projects. plan to come and have FUN getting INKY!

now, on to some other class news…

memory box card class 10/26: this class has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts, hopefully jean and i can get together for a memory box class soon!

graphic 45 classes: 12 days of christmas: this was the collection that most of you voted for doing a project with. unfortunately, i was not thrilled with the actual “construction” of this line. i had envisioned doing something “12 day” themed, but the papers are designed with each day taking up 1/2 of the page. i just could NOT come up with a project that i thought would work with this line :(

graphic 45 is releasing several new lines next week, including a valentine line called, Sweet Sentiments. it has been quite awhile since i did an altered book for valentine’s day/love. any interest in that?
