hi all!
today is dia de los muertos or day of the dead – a day to remember and celebrate the lives of friends and family who have passed on.
although dancing skeletons and grinning skulls could be considered macabre, they are usually decked out in colorful costumes and bright colors.
favorite foods and personal items are gathered and placed around photos of departed loved ones in remembrance. picnics are held on grave sites lavished with flowers.
in honor of the day, i made an embossed metal “sugar skull” using a stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop and Izink Inks from Clearsnap…
you can find more info as well as a link to the Snapguide showing how to make this project on The Crafter’s Workshop Blog: Sugar Skull
take to time reflect on the lives of those you miss today…
