bring on the spring…

don’t know about where you are, but it doesn’t look or feel much like spring here in texas. and that’s without considering what is going on with the world.

so i thought a little brightness in the form of some cheery flowers might help my house feel more like spring.

i had a Large Chipboard Banner Set from Clear Scraps that i wanted to do something with, but i didn’t want to make a banner. i sat and played with them for a bit and came up with this…

Clear_Scraps_Chipboard_Banner_Shapes_Spring_Cone (500x500)

i put 3 of the banner pieces together to make a cone. the pieces were covered with a pretty patterned paper that matched the flowers i had on hand.

this project was pretty quick and easy to do, and since the back is flat it displays nicely on the wall. when we get to gather together again, i think these would look pretty lining the aisle for a wedding, or for outdoor events, to hang in trees or along fences.

since my cone was to be displayed on a wall, i did not cover the banner piece on the back. but if you want to use it where it will be viewed from all sides, just cover all 3 pieces.

i put together a short video that shows you how to make this project step by step…

of course Clear Scraps Banner Sets are great for making, well, banners for your home as well; they come in chipboard and acrylic.

i hope you enjoyed this project and it inspired you to create your own piece of spring.
