hello,
i have another Clear Scraps project to share with you; a bright and colorful tag to hang or display somewhere to remind you that art should be FUN!
art, especially at this time, can be not only fun but therapeutic as well. take time for yourself to put your energies and emotions into something creative. art is also something we can share with our kids too; something to entertain them while sharing quality family time together.
this project features a large acrylic tag from the Clear Scraps Acrylic Tag Album set. the set includes 4 different shaped ; they are great to use to make a mini album with, but equally great to use on their own. one of my favorite things about using acrylic as a base for a project is that i can utilize both sides to create depth and dimension.
for this project i painted the back of the tag black, the front blue, then used a wire brush to remove some of the blue from the front of the tag to reveal the black layer on the back.
i also added a stenciled design using the 4 X 6 Brick Wall Stencil. to add even more dimension and texture to the tag, i used White Modeling Paste from The Crafter’s Workshop (paints were from TCW as well).
for the focal design, i colored and cut out a coloring page printed on heavy-weight cardstock. i used some bLinGy glitter gel pens to add some sparkle.
i’ve put together a short video that shows how i made this tag.
you can find the complete supply list on the Clear Scraps Blog.
i hope you enjoyed this project and can utilize some of these techniques and ideas in your own creations.
