i’d like to introduce you to “so smitten“, the next book in my series of altered books, this one celebrating all things love {click on photos to enlarge}…

2014 valentines altered book collage 1

2014 valentines altered book collage 2

the book features papers and embellishments from Authentique’s Smitten line, inks and more from Clearsnap and of course, trinkets and treasures from my vintage {and new} stash! lots of loVelY touches: charms, lace, ribbons, bows, vintage bits and MORE!

this book was SO much fun to put together and i had SO many ideas that i couldn’t even use them all! you will find new techniques if you have taken any of my altered book classes before. and if you haven’t ever taken one, this is a great one to start with! lots of little details that make it fun and unique, but not overly complicated.

this valentine’s themed book is great as a gift for someone special or to keep yourself. friends, family, weddings, romances; adaptable to many different “types” of love.

valentine’s projects…

i’ve posted several Valentine’s Day projects on the ClearSnap Blog in the last few weeks! if you are looking for some last minute inspiration for the “day of love”, head on over to check out my projects as well as those from the other ClearSnap Creative Team members. there are a LOT of terrific cards, projects and more posted, and all include supply lists, and some include directions and or videos.

a few days ago, i posted a project designed with kid’s in mind. a little necklace with a holder that you can slip a box of conversation hearts in…

convo box - wm (1024x683)

i thought this would make a cute class exchange gift; the kiddos could wear their candy while they eat it! and the project is simple enough that the kids can help make a lot of the parts for the project themselves. i also posted a video that shows how to make the holders step-by-step. you can view the post and the video HERE!

happy valentine’s day!!!

UPDATED: valentine altered book class…

UPDATE: i was able to add a few more slots to this class over the weekend, and i think there are still 1 or 2 left. if you are interested, please call SCRAPBOOK 911 {210-492-1984} ASAP as i won’t be able to add any more spaces – my supplies have been exhausted!

also, i’ve decided to include a light lunch with this class – since it’s a WHOLE 5 hours and runs through lunch. i want you alert and HAPPY during the WHOLE class, so we’ll take a little break around lunch time. there won’t be time for you to leave, or order-in though, so hopefully you’ll like what we have!

for those of you who were wondering – i have decided to teach another altered book class next month. the book will be valentine themed and the class will be held at SCRAPBOOK 911 on february 13th from 10:00 to 3:00, and the price of the class will be 45.00.

here are some pics of the book; i’ll give you a peek at some of the details…

the book features papers by jenni bowlin, embellies by tim holtz and LOTS and LOTS of junque from my vintage stash of goodies!

space in this class is LIMITED and i won’t be able to add any more slots at a later date {like i did last time}, so please call the store to sign up if you are interested.

i have been kicking around the idea of offering a few altered book classes a year {maybe 3 or 4} – each one centered around a different holiday or season.  i think altered books are a really unique and fun thing to “decorate” with. and having done the Christmas book and now the Valentine’s book, i thought why not do some for the other major holidays? i think halloween would ESPECIALLY be fun! if you like this idea, please post a comment or drop me a note. these books take SO much time to design and even MORE time to prepare for {all the cutting and packing up the goodies} that i DON’T want to spend time designing more books if the interest is NOT there for them!

hope to hear from you! thanks… tami
