here’s another project for you…
this tag features several techniques using Ancient Page Ink, Chalk Ink, Embossing Ink, Embossing Powder and Smooch…
i wanted the tag to have a vintage feel with a few pops of color. so i added the “Smooched” autumn leaves as a background, the bright red “Smooched” chipboard “L” and the harvest stripe and red ribbons.
here’s how to make your own, or a version of mine:
Supplies:
Clearsnap: Smooch: Molasses, Lucious Lime, Gold Lame and Pumpkin, Top Boss: Embossing Ink Pad – Tinted and Dazzling Copper and Cocoa Bean Embossing powder, Ancient Page Ink: Chocolate, Sandalwood and Sienna and ColorBox Chalk Ink: Toffee
Hero Arts: ClearDesign: Travel Journal and ClearDesign: Scattered Leaves
Darice: Tub-o-Buttons, Just Enough: Ribbon Accents: Red and Chipboard Letters and Numbers
Other: Hobby Lobby: ribbon, Zig: Writer: Black and American Tag: tag
Directions:
1) use a foam applicator to apply Ancient Page inks in a circular motion to tag.
2) ink the edges of the tag using Toffee Chalk Ink.
3) “prime” clear leaf stamp by “inking” it with Embossing Ink {this will help float the Smooch inks and keep them from drying on your stamp}.
4) apply dabs of Smooch inks to surface of stamp, then use a foam applicator to gently blend them.
5) stamp leaf on tag, pressing lightly over entire surface and pulling the stamp straight up.
6) reapply Smooch inks, blend and stamp 2 more leaves {you don’t need to reapply embossing ink in between if you are only doing 2 or 3 of the same design}. LET SMOOCH INKS DRY COMPLETELY BEFORE MOVING TO NEXT STEP!
7) ink travel tag stamp with embossing ink and stamp at center of tag. sprinkle on Cocoa Bean embossing powder to “travel” and to a few other areas of the tag, turn tag upside down and tap off excess. apply dazzling copper to remaining areas of the tag, remove excess and heat set.
8) stamp “enjoy the journey”, “going places”, “on the road” and “world traveler” on tag with Embossing Ink, sprinkle with Cocoa Bean embossing powder, tap off excess and heat set.
9) “ink” a few places along the edges of the tag with Embossing Pad, then emboss with Cocoa Bean embossing powder. this created a raised “distressed” look to the tag.
10) spray chipboard letter with Cherry Ice Smooch Spritz, when dry, adhere to tag.
11) write “ife” with black pen after “L”.
12) finish tag by adding buttons and ribbons.
special thanks to CLEARSNAP, DARICE and HERO ARTS …
i hope you enjoyed the techniques in this tag, if you make one of your own please send me a pic – i’d LOVE to see what YOU did!
