For the hop, I’m sharing a SUNSHINE-Y card with you. It is HOT, HOT, HOT here in sunny Texas. These hot summer days have me dreaming of a trip to the beach for a little cool H20 relief. But since the family can’t fit in a beach trip just yet, I thought I’d make a card featuring blue skies and waves, with white fluffy clouds and a big bright sun!

I used ColorBox® Premium Dye Inks and Sprays! by Stephanie Barnard along with some stamps and dies from The {Stamps} Of Life on glossy paper to create this fun little card…

I love how Stephanie gives you lots of parts and pieces that you can stamp and arrange how you like! It makes it fun to mix and match designs and make something uniquely your own.

I wanted to use black ink to really POP the bright colors, but I wanted a “softer” look, so I used Charcoal ColorBox® Chalk Ink. Chalk Inks work great on glossy cardstock, just heat set to speed up dry time to reduce the risk of smearing.

The sun was stamped on glossy paper that had been spritzed with Banana ColorBox® Premium Dye Ink Spray!, and the center was punched from paper inked using Tangerine ColorBox® Premium Dye Ink

The clouds were actually stamped on the BACK of some leftover glossy paper that had been sprayed with the Blueberry ColorBox® Premium Dye Ink Sprays! Little dotted areas had soaked through to the backside of the paper and I thought they would make pretty clouds.

The waves were made by stamping them on glossy papers that had been sprayed with Blueberry and Sky ColorBox® Premium Dye Ink Sprays!.The waves were cut out and then the colors alternated with the waves offset…

Using the Color Catcher® helps keep all the inky goodness contained! And don’t forget to use your ColorBox® Cleaning Pad to spiffy up your stamps!

The ColorBox® Cleaning Pad is a quick and easy way to clean off your stamps {even for those of us who don’t like to clean our stamps– -wink…wink!}
