i have been on a whirlwind cropping spree and have some info for you that i hope you will find interesting.
FIRST, charlotte bellm, who some of you may know from Scrapbook Obsession or Scrapbook 911 is offering quarterly retreats at ENGAGE: a creative retreat in dripping springs. this retreat center is GORGEOUS! it has everything you want and MORE! the crop space is spacious, and there are all sorts of things on hand for your use: stamps, inks, cutting machines, punches, dies, etc. the bedroom are all outfitted with the most cozy and comfy bedding you could wish for, and the multiple bathrooms are all decked out with granite and new showerheads. it’s like going to a 5 star hotel and getting to crop there! if you would like the dates for upcoming crops or more info on them, please ask to join SOUTH TEXAS SCRAPPERS facebook page.
i am teaching classes at the retreats and am working on several for the january retreat. you do not need to attend the retreat to take my classes, you can come up just for the class. a great way to check out the retreat center to see if you’d be interested in joining us for one.
and while you are there, you can also check out SASSY SCRAPPER in nearby wimberly. there are pics of the store on my instagram account -tami.paper.crafter. this is a FABULOUS store! jam packed with papers, stamps, stencils, inks, dies and much much more all set among vintage and vintage inspired decor.
i was cropping this weekend, but i’ll post about that later. first, i want to fill you in on my trip to oklahoma. i went with tinka, charlotte and jeannie, who some of you may know. we were headed to grove, where the KISS crop & shop event was to be held. but first, we stopped by pawhuska, ok – home of the PIONEER WOMAN. we visited the wonderfully refurbished mercantile, tried the pizza and ice cream, and finally walked to the swinging bridge. i was only brave enough to go part way on that!
here are some pics of our visit there…
after an overnight stay at jeannie’s, we were off to grove. this was a HUGE CROP! over 400 croppers! but it was in an old walmart so there was plenty of space to crop. and also a few places to shop, it made for a fun weekend and i got a lot done. here are some pics from the crop – see if you can guess the theme! the ladies who put on this crop do it up BIG, there were several “stages” to take photos.
a friend of tinka’s made our cute ears, and tinka embellished the aprons and made the bows for the ears. we got quite a few compliments on them.
and here are some of the layouts i got done. actually, i did almost twice as many, but i have 2 boys, and duplicate layouts for each. these won’t win any prizes for greatness, but these were all photos i’d passed over before waiting for the “perfect” papers or embellies or layout or whatever. but i was in a GET IT DONE state of mind so i found things that would work and just finished these! i also like to take along a product that i haven’t used in awhile, this trip, i brought along my KIWI LANE templates. (i also bought a few more)
i’ll tell ya about my crop this weekend next!
p.s.: if you recently e-mailed me and didn’t get an answer, please try again, or contact me on the south texas scrappers or tami sanders * paper crafter facebook page. i had a problem with my internet service.
