i just started designing for a brand new company and wanted to introduce them to you…
Harlee Quinnz Designs is a new scrapbook company based right here in Texas; it is owned by Cindy and Leanne. their company features an eclectic mix of products and styles. right now, they have just released 2 lines: BUTTERFLY GARDEN and SCENTS I REMEMBER. BUTTERFLY GARDEN features bold, bright papers with subtle images; butterflies, swirls and flowers. and SCENTS I REMEMBER would be a perfect line for those of you who have fond memories of a father, grandfather or uncle who loved his pipe or cigar.
HARLEE QUINNZ was at the CKC in San Marcos, so those of you who went probably had a chance to see their products in person. in addition to papers, Harlee Quinnz also has some BEAUTIFULLY designed stamps! they also carry fibers, embossing powders and glitters.
i took pics of the booth so you could get an idea of what all they had:
and here are two projects i made using both lines:
first up is a layout featuring a photo by laura e. {thanks laura}; i thought the butterly was absolutely GORGEOUS, so i wanted the layout to be fairly simple to really set it off, the layout is titled “flutterby” and has a few lines from the poem “all things bright and beautiful written around the edge of the photo…
i used SUNLIGHT BOWER printed paper for a base, then added a torn piece of GARDEN LIGHT to the right side. i then stamped a border with a design from the FAIRY BORDER stamp set using ColorBox Crafter’s Ink in Sunflower. i added tiny black pearls by Queen & Co to the centers.
i cut down the printed papers 1/4″ on all 4 sides and adhered them to a base of white cardstock from PRISM, then i matted my photo on another piece of white cardstock and added it to the layout. then i cut the butterflies from BUTTERFLY GARDEN, mounted them on cardstock and added them around the photo. the butterflies at the bottom right were adhered with 3D dots, and for the one at the upper left, i bent the wings up and adhered it by the body only. the “flutterby” letters are by AMERICAN CRAFTS. as a finishing touch, i added the first few lines of the poem around the edges of the photo with a black pen.
here’s my other project, it’s titled Fashion {west} a; my play on the word fashionista! i thought my blinged up cowgal was pretty glam! LOL!
i used a wood plaque i found at the dollar store as a base, then inked the edges using Dark Brown and Warm Red Chalk ink from ColorBox. then i cut a piece of PAPER INDIAN as a base, it’s about 1/8″ smaller on all sides than the plague. i inked the edges with dark brown chalk ink, then adhered it to the plaque. next, i cut a piece of LUCKY STRIPE and adhered it to the right side at an angle. i cut the cowgal out of a piece of COWGIRL EPHEMERA, and blinged her up a bit with some Prima flowers on her hat and a rhinestone one as a brooch, as well as some Queen & Co. pearls around her neck. i inked the edges with dark brown chalk ink and added her to the left side also at a slight angle. for the fence, i used a row of cigars stamp from the SMOKIN’ SENTIMENTS stamp set. i just stamped it in dark brown ink on a piece of the CIGAR BOX paper and cut it out. i added a piece of vintage lace trim to the bottom and a piece of jute close to the top edge, then adhered it to the piece using 3D dots. i added a trio of Prima flowers to the lower left and placed vintage buttons at the centers. the “fashion {west} a” canvas letters are from American Crafts, and i just inked them with Warm Red and Ochre Chalk Inks. a piece of jute threaded through the holes at the top of the plaque finished it off.
i hope to have more projects up from this company soon. if you liked what you saw, PLEASE be sure to ask YOUR LSS if they will be carrying this line!
tfl!

Thanks Tami, for this post! It is so nice to look at the photo’s of the Harlee Quinnz booth, and put faces to the two owners… Love it!!! And the layouts you made are gorgeous – love the cowgirl!!
Thanks so much for taking the photos and showing them – I was so curious about how the show went. It looks like things went well and I just love the little fairy. Love your 2 layouts and the explanations as to how you created them – I have finished 2 LOs and posted them to the yahoo gallery and have 2 more almost done.
Awesome projects and love your slide show!!!
They look great, Tami. You really made a nice layout with the butterfly pic.
I love the way you took the fashionWESTa outside. She probably likes it better outdoors, being a western type of gal!
